Well today wasn't quite our day. We lost our first game in a close one 11-10. We had fallen behind and were ralling back and it came down to me and I hit a nice shot out into Left field but the outfielder made a nice jump to rob me of the game winning hit. Then we were going into the top of the 7th with a 11-10 lead then the opposing team came back and scored 6 runs. Then they shut us out in the bottom causing us to lose 16-11.

Air National Guard week 3.
2005-05-17 00:37:22
Well the first game was interesting. The bats were hot right off from the start. The opposing team scored 7 in the top of the 1st while we only scored 1. That all changed though through out the third inning we rallied back to take the lead 19-13. Then it was smooth sailing as we went through 5 innings with the final score 23-13. The first game I played in as a DH. I went 3 for 3. The first at bat in the third was an inside the park home run which scored 3 runs. The second at bat was a ground ball to the short stop and out running his throw like Ichiro. Then the third at bat was another shot out into center field for a base hit.
The second game I didn't play in since we had to rotate players in. Anyway the bats were still hot as we scored 5 in the 1st, the other team scored 4. Then it turned ugly with us being up 6-4 in the second the opposing team scored 9 runs to make it 13-6 them. We fought all the way up to the sixth ending and lost it by the final score 18-17.
Well we are 2-4 on the season. Here are my current stats

Softball team fights to win one and then slumps to lose another
2005-05-09 23:40:11
Our team in the first game got off to a good start by scoring 2 runs in the first. The next ending still shuting down the other team. Second ending I come up to the plate with two outs. I swing at the first pitch driving it to mid-deep center field and flew out on a well hit ball. In the third, we scored another run to make it 3-0 at the end of 3. The fourth ending the opposing team gets 2 runs in to make it 3-2. Top of the 5th opposing team up again scoring 3 more runs, now they lead 5-3. Once again we lose another lead that we had early. Bottom of the 5th we start our rally back. Runners on first and third one out. I come up to the plate I take the first pitch for a called ball. The second pitch I take it as well for a called strike the count is 2-2 and 1 out. The next pitch came little bit to the left side of the plate and I hit it a hard shot into center field. The runner from third scores making it a 5-4 ball game with runners on 1st and 2nd. The next batter hits a deep ball to center field it bounces and rolls to the fence. Dane, who was on second runs around third and scores safely. Then closely behind him I sprinted on home not realizing they had bobbled the ball and scored easily. They said I looked like a freight train coming around third with no brakes. Then the batter got a inside the park home run. So now the score is 6-5. Then we kept on ralling to make the score 10-5. The final score of the first game after a failed come back was 10-9. We won our first game.
The second game however was a different story. We had the game close through the first 3 innings or at least it was still possible to come back. We were down 7-2. And then it fell apart from there. We ended up getting slaughtered in 5 by the final score of 20-5. Unfortanetly I wasn't in the game until they need me in the fifth to pinch run so they could have scored one more to stay in the game. However the chance was never there as the last batter up didn't get the ball past the pitcher.
So my stats for this season so far.
Games AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI's SO BB AVG.
2 4 1 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 .250
Well our record now is 1-3. At least we have a win now and playing some better ball. Just one bad ending made it fell apart.

Softball Team off to a sluggish start
2005-05-02 23:50:56
Well our first game it looked like we had some hope as we jumped up 4-0 in the first 2 innings then it fell apart. We ended up losing our first game 15-11. Which I didn't play in since we had 17 players. I however did play in the second game. I flew out into center field and popped up in the infield on the first base line going 0-2 in my first game. The game was called due to the slaughter rule. (1st inning it was 4-2 the opposing team) and then it slipped from there. We didn't get the pitches called for us and our picther was getting fusterated and had to just basically tossed in the center to get something that wouldn't walk the person. We ended up losing 24-2 by the fourth inning. Our next two games will be next week. We'll hopefully do better. I'll be trying to get my first base hit of the season as well.

Maryland Gazette: Retire or not to Retire that is the Question?
2004-06-17 16:53:36
Well I have officially done it. I broke the record for big spring. I subscribed 205 people in the 10 week contest and broke the old record of 14 years at 199. Now the Gazette wants me to continue to sell but aren't forcing the issue. I've been with them for 6 years but I'm currently working at Lucky's Supermarket, and going to college. I wouldn't be able to go out every night of the week like I use to and I'm 18 years of age. Now I don't know but I broke the record but I think I'm getting a little too old to be selling the newspaper door to door. Now the question I have to ask myself is either to go out on top with breaking the record or continue on and go out maybe once or twice a week and sell and train new people to sell the paper. After that who knows. When I do have my summers off from college they may allow me to become Head of Sales for the Gazette in 2005.
Well I'll keep you all up to date. Kinda interesting. I'm a ledgend in my own time for the Gazette.
