  • Christmas AMV short for Jadd's MEP 2005-11-29 17:31:00 Uggh, what did I get myself into. I have to listen to all this music that I really don't like and come up with something funny to boot! Don't know if I can do comedy - I guess the worst that could happen is that Jadd will just say;
    "um, thanks buma, but it ain't funny..."

    Bah...

    Oh well, can't be all that bad.

    I think that I'm using this as an excuse not to start my NG Evangelion AMV for Kawaii Kon 2006. With the deadline in 3 months and I haven't even started on the clips yet... I shudder to think how I am going to get all this stuff done.

    buma must strive on pressure...

    that and I have my own MEP to do too... it don't seem that my MEP partners don't seem very motivated to do their parts either, however. I'm afraid that this may die a slow death - good idea, but it might just come as too little too late.

    bah - humbug :)

  • so if you don't like the song, you don't like the video? 2005-11-27 20:36:10 "QC on 2005-11-21 07:10:38 wrote:
    What a horrible song you used, which pretty much ruined the whole video for me. In the end, I wasn't able to grab any of the deeper themes you wanted to bring up and thus made this into a rather typical once-view experience.."

    hmm, I mean, it's not like I hid the song that was used - I stated the band and the title and it wasn't some obscure group either (well, okay it's old school, but not that long ago... at least for me). I mean, does one judge alone on the song, and if you didn't like that the rest of the video is just crap?

    i donno, maybe I'm just 'sensitive' or something.
  • DGDI1&0? gets its first fan 2005-11-27 13:35:27 well, after being on AMV for like 6 months, I've finally found this journal section. I don't know who reads this stuff, but at least it is a place for me to put my digital thoughts down.

    Anyway, got my first 'rave' review for DGDI1&0? today from Rutkiskasca. Most of the time, people will pan my video for the subtitles and I guess I don't blame them. I've had several comments in the past that state the subtitles are way too distracting, but as a newbie editor, it was the only way I could figure out how to get the story across.. What I don't understand is how they can say that as most anime one watches will have subs (especially if they watch fansubs too) - that is unless they watch the dub version (which I must admit that I do at times, especially if the Japanese voice is that high-pitched female 'kawaii' voice that seems to litter the genre).

    Rutkiskasca seems to actually get my premise (either that or he actually read the long-ass blurb I wrote for it - I do tend to be long winded) and liked it. Is reaching an audience of a single viewer with the ideas and thoughts that go into an AMV a success? Well, I guess it's a start!
