So my Platoon Sergeant wakes me up this morning with a phone call... and in a serious and stern voice, tells me, "I need you to write this number down, it's important..."
Immediately I though, fuck, whats wrong now!
He then responses with, "39."
...silence...
"Is that suppose to be my sequence number?" I ask.
Now with plenty of spunk and enthusiasm, he yells, "Fuck ya man, you're getting promoted to Sergeant First Class!"
To explain, the 39 means, I was selected as the 39th best qualified out of this year's 64 selected SSG/E-6s (which surprised me considering last year only 14 total were selected). This being my first year eligible for SFC/E-7, I'm surprised to see I even made the cut!

On a side note, watching "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" on SyFy and noticing that of all the gore and violence that they didn't edit... and the one thing they do edit (outside of audio) is a plummer's crack? REALLY? - Oh yeah, I forgot!!! 2011-03-22 06:09:13 The Sergeant First Class promotion list comes out this Thursday, wish me luck!

Yup, been in Huntsville, Alabama two whole days now and have been trashed three times (twice in one day). Which had me living in Japan Standard Time, so when I tried to get my head right with the local time, I end up waking up at 1 AM and not being able to go back to sleep!
To make matters worse, when I flip on the TV, TCM is playing "Seven Samurai!"
The good news, I had the hotel gym all to myself... the bad news, it's been a while, so the gym was a wake up call. Time to go running when I get back from work! -
