After responding to a friend of mine about a scene in Lucky Star - including all its videos and scene in the death note 2nd OP parody in Hell 4, I watched Hell 4 again and realized how many AMV ideas I had over the last month were not original.
It scares me that I might accidentally copy another video. Thus, I bring myself to the realization, as I ponder my start at reviewing videos, that reviewing videos can have consequences to an editor.
Although I have yet to finish anything yet this year, I have been editing together two vids. I will definitely published one (but it might be June at the rate things are going), but the other I might just include in something else.
With so many videos I have seen over the past 7 years, I am bound to screw up and copy an idea, so if I do. Gomen! -

I have uploaded my new video to the local for downloading. I think its worse than my previous video, but I thought my previous video was pretty bad also. I hope to get constructive comments and ops, so I will know.
My next video plans include some semental, comedy, and a parody of another amv. I also have the idea for a video where I may have to create alot of original material due to cetain sequences lacking in the chosen source.
Well, I hope to have fun again a AWA this year. -

Meh, I'm back I think.
The AWA contest deadline sort of woke me up. I did not want to miss a second year of AWA participation, so 3 weeks prior to the deadline, I took a video I have been working on and off for the past year or so and threw it together. About 130+ hours later I finished the remaining 80% of the video.
I have set the video premiere date set to the start of AWA, so by Org rules I'll upload the video then ...if I'm sober.

That's nice. I thought my video might actually do well in the "First Video" catagory in the VCA, but I didn't have "all videos in catalog" checked in my profile. T_T
(Sigh) Oh well. At least I have started on my second Vid. Its use Gunslinger Girls with a somewhat popular song (not gonna let it out until its done). My goals for this video is to make use of action and effects. So far I have come up with a MAD type of video for the intro, which will evolve into an action/drama AMV with lots of effects.
One of the things I am watching is overdoing the effects. I have seen a few vids which were degraded because of too many awkward effects. I hope not to make the same mistake, but time will reveal.
Ideas have been flowing into my head recently of good AMVs I could make, but I need better music (been listening to so much rock lately!). However, the Parody of an AMV (also know to AWA as "The Pop will Eat Itself"), and the original animation ideas are something I really want to do. But they will both take some time.
Well, later I guess. I hope I will fare better in next year's VCA.
