JOURNAL: Pie Row Maniac (Kirk Fryrear)

  • Check your face real quick. You might be damn ugly and not even know it. 2002-07-08 05:10:03 We in sunny ol' La Grande, OR had, just a few hours ago, one of the biggest hail/lightning/thunder storms I can recall, and I've lived here for over a decade.

Woot! My Perfect Blue video got on the RVP review! Many thanks and coolness points go out to mexicanjunior and his merry crew at Random Variable. ;-) Thanks again, guys!

As I mentioned, the FFVII project is out of commission; but now a new advesary has arisen. Not surprising (and equally irritating to some), it's a random-action video. And ya know what? I don't really care that it's plain action clips. This is pretty much gonna be my "take a break" video, where I can simply have fun for a change. No in-depth meanings, no dramatic plots, just simple fast-paced seizurific eye candy. :-3 Fun for the whole family, of course.
There won't be ANY Dragonball Z in this video, thankfully. However, I'll be brave this time and put in old skool Dragonball. Satisfying, I do say! Indeed! Pip pip! Hail to the Queen and all that! ;-P

  • My own goal decide's another person's fate. Who am I? I'm just a human being, of course. 2002-07-07 04:17:21 Back from camp. Got home around 11 AM, after saying goodbye to my week-long friends consisting of elemantary schoolers. After getting home, I was tired, woozy, dizzy and disoriented for the rest of the entire day, but I couldn't sleep. Damnit. Gonna catch up on some of those lovely Z's. I hear they're nice this time of year.

Great new AMV idea popped in my head during my week away, involving Creed and Trigun. Obviously I won't reveal anything just yet, but I still want to keep ya'll updated. Hur hur, I sound like a redneck.

On a more personal note, I tried throwing some of my mom's cigs away in the trash when she was away, just to secretly encourage her to stop. I didn't do a very good job of getting rid of them apparently, as she found them in the trash, told me it was her choice to smoke, then put them back in the packet. I can't stand it, I'm so sick of irrational people right now. But I'm tired of crying, of whining and complaining about them. I want to help them. But apparently, that's a bad thing to do, because it's their choice to be ignorant. It's my mother's choice to smoke. Her choice to slowly kill herself, letting those cancer sticks sap her life every time she puts one of those in her mouth and lights it. I've tried to brush it off all day, but it's just eating me alive inside.

No more complaining. No more whining. I need to set things in motion.
    Like I said, I can't stand it.

  • Tales from the Crap 2002-06-30 02:39:54 I'm back for the night. I go back to the CAMP tomorrow for Junior Counselor duties. Another week of what I went through this week, only with 3rd, 4th and 5th graders instead of my friends who are my own age. Hell, it could be worse: I could be stuck baby-sitting 7th and 8th graders. No offense to you 7th and 8th graders out there reading this, but all my experiences with your age group result in irritating memories.

In the AMV department, I've decided to let go of the FFVII project. It's just not worth it, to be blunt. Why make a video if it's just going to collect dust and be half of an eye-sore, I figure.

I'm having some deep thoughts about my two mistake videos Sheer Intensity and The Harder They Fall. They both consist of footage from other AMVs (obvious shame on my part), and after some thought as well as touring through other AMV editors websites, I really want to take the two videos down. There's just way too much disgrace starting at me whenever I see them on my roster. So I bid farewell to these to action-packed fools, and if you even care, you might as well too.

  • But time flows like a river.... And history repeats itself.... 2002-06-22 05:13:35 Hmm, it would seem I have not updated my life in the recent days. Well here's the scoop on my existence:

My girlfriend and I are what I'm hoping to be through (no I'm not saying she's a bad person, she's very nice ^_^). She's at brass camp right now and will return on Saturday (brass camp is about brass instruments and music for those who be puzzled). I went over to her house and talked to her mom who revealed to me that my girlfriend thought of us two as really good friends, and that she's not totally ready for relationships at this point in her life (she just turned 16). Anyways, to sum it all up, here's what I know: my girlfriend and I (according to her) are now good friends.

Alas, I forced myself to go to her house because of some startling news: one of my online friends who lives about five hours away from me told me that she has feelings for me. I meekly told her that I had some for her as well. What could make this situation any trickier? Well she's coming over for seven days tomorrow. However I won't be able to enjoy her prescence as long as I'd like to; I'm leaving for a Christian camp for one or two weeks, depending on the size of the other camps ahead of mine. It's a long story, so I won't bore you any more than I have to.

I've inspired one of my friends to make one of his own music videos. He's using Trigun, and unlike most newbies he's using an original song, one that's only been used once. Glory upon glories. I've taken a look at the first minute or so and it's pretty good compared to the common "first video". Some lip sync problems, some edit problems and that's about it my friends. Risen, has another gifted one. He shall triumph, and you all know it. :-p

I got me a new soundtrack. I actually bought a CD instead of downloading. Hark! I'm... maturing? Growing up!?! No it cannot be!! GAGH!!
Anywayz, it's the ER soundtrack. Only $5. For some obscure and most likely rational reason, however, it has jungle/bongo/conga music on the CD. Three or four of the 20 tracks. Definitely what I expected. But what I did expect was there: soft piano music, the kind that gets you right here *pounds chest*. Obviously, one should have expected this because of all the heart-wrenching deaths that occur on that show. It's enough to make an epidemic to be inspired enough to take down all seven continent's population. Including Antartica. ESPECIALLY Antartica. Don't ask why.

Next to explain, AMV reviews! I got one done to Xenodrake's Anime Conquest yesterday, one to Beef's Eye of the Tiger today and I'll hopefully get two done tomorrow before I leave Sunday. I have to update a review on a remastered video (curse you, TommyRude! ^_^) and one to NPC's Noir Trailer. I want to get all my loose ends tied before I leave, so that I won't have anything to worry about or be concerned about while I'm gone.

Yes, this shall be my last journal entry for at least a week, maybe two. So enjoy the time while you have it! Mua hah hah ha ha!
