JOURNAL: Pie Row Maniac (Kirk Fryrear)

  • Viagra; What's up with that 2002-08-24 04:58:40 dokidoki: That has got to be the coolest news I've heard all week. Rarely do we AMV creators hear about the recording artist's reaction to our efforts. Like I said, coolest news.

Once again, I have the house to myself for the night. My mom bought my dad a porche for his birthday and they're out in another town for the night, to pick it up. My dad's as happy as a clam. Although I have no idea what cars have to do with clams. ¬¬
As for the car, it's year is 1980 something and is the color of chocolate, I'm told. My dad'll probably be in a good mood for the next couple of... years. ^_^ I'm happy for the guy.

The Evangelion Box Set. I've got two dvds left to watch. Damn, this truly is a heart-pounding anime, not to state the obvious. I mean, character design, plot twists, mental and physical drama, bloody action, it's all there. I've said it once, I'll say it again. Pure greatness.

I'm not quite sure why yet, but lately I've been starting to become a big fan of various bands alluva sudden. Smashing Pumpkins, Creed, Rammstein, all well-known, yet I'm JUST now getting into them. Anybody want to state a theory of some sort? I didn't think so. ><

I've got me a secret project going and boy howdy is it coming along. I'm so far ahead on this thing that it's done. You Choose Sam and Paperskunk as well as a few others are in on this, so good luck to you guys also working on this. ^_^

My two current AMV projects are right where I left them. Unfinished and waiting to be edited. Too damn bad for them, I suppose. I've been coming up with some really good and original ideas at work. I have a CD player next to my dishwashing "post" and listening to most of my CD collection gives me some time to throw ideas around. Who knew washing dishes at a mexican restaurant would be benneficial to a video editor's efforts. :-P

    Awesomeness of the Evening:
"What makes a man, is it the power in his hands
Is it his quest for gloryyyyyyy
Give it all ya got, to fight to the top
So we can know your storyyyyyyy

Now you're a man! (Man!) A man, man, man!
Now you're a man! (Man!) A manie, manie, man!
A man, man, man! (Man!) You are now a man!
    You're a maaaaaaaa-yuhn! Now you're a mai-yuhn!

    Live it! Live it!

What makes a man, is it the woman in his arms?
Just 'cause she has big tittliiiiiies!
Or is it the way, he fights every day?
.... No, it's probably the titiiiiiiiies!

    Now you're a man! (Man!) A mai-yuhn, mai-yuhn, mai-yuhn!
    Now you're a may-mai-yuhn! (Man!) Mu-mai-yuhn, mai-yuhn, mai-yuhn, mai-yuhn!
    Now you're a MAI-yuhn! (Man!) M-A-N! Man! Now... mah-mai-yuhn, mai-yuhn!
    Now you're a MAI-YUHN!!"

  • Good times, good times 2002-08-22 02:50:45 Another great anime within my possession. I got the Evangelion box set yesterday and have gotten through three of the eight dvds so far. It's like a blitzreig of action and drama. Pure greatness.

I acquired Resident Evil: Director's Cut just today. Man have I missed playing this game. I forgot how cheesy the zombies are in this game. Funny how you notice the "lack-of" details in the original game if you've played the sequels for too long. There's less zombie "flavors", less weapons (gotta love that shotgun situation in RE1), and the VA's are just damn funny because of their corniness and lack of acting. Geez, I've REALLY missed this game. :-P

I've really got to do more journal entries regarding my AMVs and video status'. Okay, so here's my current list of video ideas at the moment:

    - Trigun/Creed
    - The Elite
    - Way of the Otaku

The second two make little sense, I know; but that's because they're ideas that seem pretty original to me, and to simply give the ideas away would be God-forsakenly stupid.

  • In the song Who Let The Dogs Out, is it "woof... woof woof woof" or "who... who who who" 2002-08-18 16:47:40 Somebody finally found our dog! WHOO!! :D x12

*celebrates by eating his spaghetti dinner*

  • Wow... just... just wow... ^_^ 2002-08-16 03:05:33 I would like to personally apologize for my last journal entry. I'm usually not like that and I'd like to hope that I never act like that again... Kyburg, thanks for caring. ^_^ Anywayz, now that I got all that crap out of my system in my last entry, I can finally get back to the normal things.

After coming back from Georgia, we went to Lloyd Center in Portland and shopped for four hours. I snagged Lord of the Rings, Fatal Fury Double-Impact, the xXx soundtrack, and some Resident Evil novels.

LORD OF THE RINGS: Like so many, I love this movie. I couldn't wait to get it when they announced it's release. I wanted to see it in the theaters just one time so that when it finally came out on DVD, I'd be able to savor it more.
I want to make a LotR video so badly, but that would seriously have to wait until I have my two current projects out of the way. My hard drive is just that small; 28 gigs actually.

FATAL FURY DOUBLE-IMPACT: Based on the classic video game series, the DVD puts the first two stories of Fatal Fury. One being everybody versus Geese Howard, and the second being everybody versus Wolfgang Krauser. The action and animation isn't bad on either features, but the dub! I mean, HELL, didn't anybody who was working on either of these movies realize that half the dialouge is bad? I tells ya... yeesch...

xXx SOUNDTRACK: Not much to say about this one. Features two CDs; one all rock, the other all rap. I can't stand rap, so I figured the first CD would satisfy me enough. It didn't. Only four of the songs on there deemed worthwhile. One simple rock (Feuer Frei by Rammstein), one a remix (Bodies *Vrenna Remix* by Drowning Pool), and two techno (Landing by Moby and Technologique Park by Orbital). Unless you like hard grunge rock, this one's kinda a waste. I knew I shoulda just bought the Lord of the Rings soundtrack...

RESIDENT EVIL NOVELS: There's a RE book series by S.D. Perry depicting the events in all of the RE games out so far, and two original books totally thought up by Perry himself. So far, there's six RE books all-together, and I got them all in the wrong order. :-P The last of the six books I got was #2, for crying out loud.
Here's the order of the books and a general explanation of them.

    Book #1: The Umbrella Conspiracy
    - Depiction of the events in Resident Evil
    Book #2: Caliban Cove
    - All-original RE story by S.D. Perry, starring Rebecca and some new characters
Book #3: City of the Dead
    - Depiction of the events in Resident Evil 2
    Book #4: Underworld
    - All-original RE story by S.D. Perry, starring Rebecca, Leon, Claire and the characters from #2
    Book #5: Nemesis
    - Depiction of the events in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
    Book #6: Code: Veronica
    - Depiction of the events in Resident Evil: Code Veronica

I've begun on my two current video projects again, and both are looking very good. Over the past few weeks, I've been able to conjour up some pretty original ideas for videos. Of course, telling them would be a dumb regret on my part. :-P

ooh, and I ordered the Eva box set and it should be here within a week or so. hee hee! *is a happy happy boy*

I figured I might as well dish out a lot of quotes and phrases for all those who actually give a crap about my Awesomeness of the Evenings. ^_^

"What makes a man, is it the woman in his arms? Just 'cause she has big tittiiiiiiiiiiies! Or is it the way, he fights everyday? .... Naw, it's probably the tittiiiiiiiiiiiiies!" ~ Now You're A Man, from Orgazmo

"In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a militry court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... the A-Team." ~ A-Team Introduction

"Do you expect me to talk?"
"No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die." ~ James Bond and Goldfinger, from Goldfinger

"Great googily moogily...!" ~ Football field painter, from a Snickers commercial

"This kid from work, Ricky, couldn't remember whether you ordered the pens with the blue ink or the black... But Ricky was a GOD for ten minutes when he trounced a maitre d' at a food court." ~ Edward Norton, from Fight Club

"YOU... SHALL NOT... PAAAAAAASS!!" ~ Gandalf, from Lord of the Rings

  • Demonic experiences... and I can't fix any of them... 2002-08-14 06:00:55 This past month has been a damnation of reality for me. Keep reading if you want to know why. If you're tired of amv.org members whining about their lives, then I doubt you'll want to read this entry.

GRANDMOTHER HIATT: She passed away the day my father and I left for Georgia, for her funeral. Two hours before we left home, to be precise. My mother had already left for Georgia a few nights before, to be with her mother during her last moments. The day before the funeral, the visitations occured and we got to see her before the service and burial the next day. Many showed up for both the visitations and the funeral. It's not surprising, though. She had 10 siblings, so many, many of my cousins were there, to pay their respects to their departed sister. To my departed grandmother.
Me, my brother and four of my cousins were given the privelege of carrying her coffin out of the car, then later to the burial sight. I say privelege because I felt good carrying her body to her final resting place, and because she was one of the best people I knew. It's like being able to help out a role model, as if returning the favor of their existence and the influence they've played on your life. It's difficult to explain, but it's a simple concept to understand. I hope so.

MY DOG, SASSY: As my dad was driving home from the kennel, where we left our two dogs while we were away at Georgia, one of them jumped out of one of the back windows. It wasn't until my dad got home did he realize that Sassy is gone, loose on the streets or taken in by someone. She's been gone for three days now. We've called animal control, the pound, the kennel, the police and the radio station. We've posted fliers, put an ad in the local paper and gone around asking people door-to-door.
I just want my dog back. That's all I want right now. I miss her so much, it makes me cry thinking about the last time I saw her, in the kennel a week ago... I just my dog back. And apparently that's too much to ask...

LORRIE: I just learned not even two days ago that one of my friend's sister was killed in a car accident. I don't know any of the details, but I don't care. After the first two incidents that just occured, this is too much. I'm sitting here, crying my eyes out because I can't fix any of these situations. I can't bring my grandmother back, I can't find my dog who for all I know could be dead after jumping out of the car, and I can't bring back my friend's sister!! What the fuck is wrong with my life all of the sudden!?!! And you know what tops it all off? My mother is horribly depressed now, and I can't fix that either!! Am I being fucking tested?? To see how far a simple 18-year old Christian can be pushed?? Push my faith to the limit?? If I am, I can gurantee anybody that my faith isn't going to falter. I've come too far to lose it now...

    ....

I have cursed being human and mortal more times this past month than I have in my entire life.
