JOURNAL: Pie Row Maniac (Kirk Fryrear)

  • Bah weep grahnah weep ninny bahn! 2003-03-09 04:04:13 I got back from a trip to the big city a few hours ago today, returning with one less GC game, one more DVD, and a massive urge to dance arcade-style. Yes, you heard me. Dance arcade-style.
I went to the mall's arcade and found, not one, but two dancing arcade games. One seemed pretty confusing compared to the other, consisting of a circular dance-pad instead the original square, as well as an odd feature where you move your hands in front of sensors when it asks you to. Some might find that more to their liking, but me being a complete n00b at dance games at the time, decided to go with the other game, which had the more regular features. Holy HELL, did I have a blast playing this thing. I must have spent at least five dollars playing it (give or take, considering it ate about three of my quarters, grr...). After experiencing dance arcade games for the first time, I KNOW that I'm going to buy DDR for the PS2. There's just the matter of, y'know, actually paying for it. =P

As for the game and DVD, I brought my GC with me on the trip but of course I brought the wrong cord that connects to the TV. I had the A/V cord, but like most hotel TVs, it required an AF switch, of which I have none. Should've seen that coming, but oh well. Anyways, I brought all three GC games I have, and decided to bring Resident Evil Zero with me while at the mall to see how much I could get for it, considering I rarely play it and thought little of it's worth when I did. I got a good deal at FYE for $25 of store credit, which is great compared to GameStop's $15. Gaaaaaayyy...
I traded the game in for some batteries for my CD player and for The Transformers Movie on DVD. I've downloaded it before and didn't catch A LOT compared to watching it on the DVD. Much of the quality is lost on downloaded versions which, to my surprise, takes away from the plot and understanding of the story. Who'd a thunk it.

So if you're wondering about the journal entry title, it's the Universal Greeting used in the movie. =P

  • List a la Poo 2003-03-07 02:20:48 Okay, now that I've gotten the whole "OMG-I-HAVE-WINDOWS-XP-*JOYGASM!*" thing out of my system, I have me a list of stuff to do...
    - SSJVegita's review of Everything Is Grey
    - Re-do my second track of the JGR Project (it got deleted the first time! *sniffle*) Due the 16th
    - Re-install a bunch of much-needed programs
    - Update my Winamp playlists
    - Write the rest of my screenplay. Another two scenes oughta do it. Due the 14th.
    - Write an argument piece on a POS play I read ("Endgame": The Story of Going Nowhere). Also due the 14th.
    - Get that dag-blasted Star Wars project remake done. Due whenever I feel like it. =P
    - Scour the city in search of a job. Due when my parent's last nerve is hit, hehe.

Hopefully once I get those two assignments due the 14th out of the way, I can focus the next two days completely on the second JGR Project track. Huzzah, I do say! Huzzah! o_0

  • Huzzah 2003-03-06 21:06:39 I come to thee now, using the power of awesomness derived from Windows XP.

    Oh.
    Hell.
    Yes.
    :O
  • Revelations! :O 2003-03-01 22:06:25 7 gigs backed up so far. I got rid of my folder full of other people's AMVs and, despite me knowing that it's all on CD, it was somewhat sentimental for me deleting so many good videos. =P Mr Sensitive needs a bitchslapping.

I saw Daredevil last night. I can honestly say I really liked it. However, I have come to the conclusion that Ben Affleck cannot run and act at the same time. Despite that, the movie was good.
Favorite character: Bullseye. Seeing someone use paperclips in such a creative way makes me admire them.

I'm finally getting back into my projects, especially since the due date for the JGR Project is pretty soon. -_-

My goal for when I get a job is to save money and buy DDR and the dance-pads. After seeing some of the 2nd Project, listening to a playlist of a few of the songs, and hearing about it's awesomeness as a game in various entries and forum posts, I feel I must experience this for myself. And there are no arcades in this humble town of mine, so... mleh. =

  • HALLEJUAH 2003-02-28 03:43:21 Forget EVERYTHING I said about my girlfriend in my last entry.
=D x too many to count

I just talked to her and asked her where we stood relationship wise. She said that she wanted to continue what we had, but has been extremely swamped with work and school and hasn't been able to talk lately. I asked her simply and bluntly where she thought we stood, relationship-wise. She said that she WANTED TO GO BACK TO WHAT WE HAD, but was too busy. I told her that I'd wait. And here's the part that makes me SOOO glad I waited for her this whole time: "really?! you have no idea how much a relief that is"
I swear to you all and to God himself, I couldn't process a single thought at that moment, besides how happy I was. XD
But WOW, this is amazing. I feel so much weight lifted off my mind that it feel almost like a clean slate.
    And so, just to clarify...

I love you, Meghan Dever! =D
