- Encoding Takes Forever 2003-02-09 21:51:39 I hate this part of the video making process where you are weeding out the last of the 'bugs' in your video, somehow each time after you encode, which takes about a good hour, you always notice one little more mistake you made that you missed, and this process repeats itself for DAYS. GRRR!!

I'm currently alternating between 3 videos at the moment, which I admit is quite fun. They are looking almost complete, except for one. Now to think of some release dates. ^_^ I don't think clashing with all the upcoming VCA hoopla is a good thing though. O_O

Rare Opportunity

It's very rare that a contest has a non-anime category anymore these days, perhaps due to the seemingly unpopular-ness of them among the AMV crowd, (personally I don't see why), and I'm rather glad Mindwarp's contest still has them. Kudos to them!

Reinstallation holidays

I'm finally coming back to the point where I was before my computer crashed.
All that's not yet up is Unreal Tournament 2003 and some utilities. That was one scary reinstall, due to some unexpected problems (biggest culprit being Norton/Symantec software, which it nearly nuked itself and my internet access along with it).
Unfortunately my short bunch of holidays has ended, and so much for hoping to get some video work done. I've also gotten Unreal 2 now so there goes whatever remaining free time I have left. Heh. -
Why no video?

While I was supposed to have released a new vid last week, a bunch of stuff got in the way....namely work, where a bunch of stuff was thrown at me fairly suddenly, which tied me up for a few days, and then some.
I also didn't have time to properly encode and test my video, I was experimenting with quality vs. size - it's currently a toss up from about 57 meg up to about 70 megs. I might go for the smaller version, if I can convince my eyes that they look indistinguishable for the most part, and it'll certainly promote more people to download it I hope, especially people on the dial-ups.
And then I fell ill sometime mid-week, which didn't help. That wasn't fun at all.
And just for the fun of it, my PC decided to die suddenly, and I’ll have to reinstall windows completely from scratch. But since its only a software fault it seems, nothing was lost, it will just take some time to get back up to speed, considering I have to reinstall 3 years worth of stuff and settings, as well as installing SP1 for XP. Yup, it'll take some time indeed. X_X
Furthermore, there is the upcoming festive season busyness (where I am). Ack.
So as to when, maybe later next month. Oh well.
