  • Crashing Mood 2003-02-21 20:58:29 Premiere is acting up again. So here I am instead. Got some progress before it started crashing more often than I have patience for.

  • Pre-VCA thoughts 2003-02-16 22:01:27 Ahhh the VCA, arguably one last year's most controversial contest. I remember all the arguments that it spawned last year in the forums. x.x

    Do note the nature of the contest - it's viewer's choice, NOT creator's choice (hey won't it be interesting if there was one like that, where it's a contest voted by peers?), so it's a higher probability that most of the votes will go to the award-winning creators/videos. People would of course vote on stuff they know or seen, which probably contributed to a lot of anger last year since a very small handful of videos/creators dominated like almost 90% of the contest.

    I remember suggesting to Phade last year to increase the number of nominations to be more than 5 videos where applicable, so in order to 'catch' more talent. I guess it all depends on the vote count, if the 6th highest video had only like a few votes short of the 5th, it would be a pity if it was ignored for the sake of strictly having no more than 5 per category, no?

    I believe it would help to treat the VCA somewhat like a popularity contest, aim for the best, but don't place TOO much stake on it. ^_^

    So all in all, vote well, and best of luck to everybody.
     
  • Finished games 2003-02-15 01:48:54 Yaay, I finished 2 games today, Unreal 2, which was like, blah, rather bland and a huge dissapointment, and GTA3 which was uber spiffy. I'm amazed that I actually managed to finish the game without requiring any cheats. It certainly had some quite tricky and challanging missions, (reminds me of Interstate-76, which was another cool game). Can't wait for them to release Vice City on the PC come May.

    At the very least it's a whole bunch of Gigs that I can now uninstall off my HDD, and more space for editing. ^_^ 
  • Today's Experiment..................Failed 2003-02-11 01:01:42 Got video? Nope. You guessed it. When I thought I weeded out all the 'bugs' in the video, up pops one more. One single frame shot that wasn't right, No doubt I'll find more in the coming days. Yaay what joy.

    One interesting side effect of all this encoding, which means I pretty can't do much on my machine, since the processor is all tied up, is that I've become a fairly competent bejeweled player on my palm pilot. O_O With a high score of 83000+ on the timed mode. Uh yeah, okay.
