“V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N.”

Nope, I'm not on vacation, the song is.
Updated my profile again, so I cut even more fat from it and added more goodies (like my musical taste), which might come in useful one day I'm guessing.
Also re-did my TOP 10 anime lists as well to remove the redundant entries but I wish the TOP 10 videos list would automatically be the TOP 10 on your opinion list so you don’t have to update each time you watch a new cool video, or you want to re-arrange the order.
Anyways it’s a good time to pop over for some reading if you’re itching for stuff to do (or download/review) ^_^.
Yesterday I had a couple of new music video ideas pop into my head, and one particularly evil one, made to a particular movie or possibly even movies. I think I better keep that one to myself. I get laughing fits when I think of it. Time, I need more time.

“Yeah all those stars drip down like butter”

I like the idea of naming journal entries from lyrics of whatever you are listening to at the moment. A like random ideas.
Why can’t more convention contests provide uploading/FTP submissions? It rather depressing for people who live far, far away to enter contests, especially when they don’t have convenient tape-output facilities….
So no Katsu for me since they decided to only accept tradition old fashioned VHS tapes ONLY. I sure could do with a frequent con-going proxy….any other creators interested? ^_^
So here I am scouring for contest that allows digital submissions. Or at least one that accepts CDRs. Until then I keep on working on my next video. My premiere is still acting funny, but it’s better now that I can actually work on videos again, which means that if you enjoyed my videos, there will be more coming along soon.

The numbers..........
2002-01-06 22:31:44
Well since I've just reached a 1000 hit on my profile (not my journal, that's only 157) I thought I mention that. Also, 2 weeks ago, Evangelion Opus surpassed over 1000 downloads, my first video ever to do so, not to mention it's my newest video on this site. However I still think many Eva fans still don't know of it's existance though.
<plug>If you are reading this and you are an Eva fan, I'll would like to recommend it.</plug>
Recently I've upgraded to Win XP and still am in the midst of ironing out a number of issues, one of which is Premiere 6, so I can't continue working on my projects until that is solved....
The good news is that since the last update, I've watched, Jin-Roh (Awesome), and Knocking on Heaven's Door (Good) and snippets of Noir, Beserk, Hellsing, Nadesico and Sexy Commando Gaiden Sugoiyo Masaru-san! It's been fun!

Order or Chaos?
2001-12-08 21:01:23
I've always been curious about the process of creation.
From reading up on quite a number of people’s journals over time, I am guessing that most people make their videos in a linear fashion, as they would start at 0.00 and work their way towards the end of the song. All in a very orderly fashion.
However this method is one I do not use anymore, as I am very chaotic when I make videos, I have no set pattern, sometimes I start at the end of the video first, or work on totally separate parts of the video, or the obvious/favorite parts first and fill in the blanks as they slowly link up. I’m not sure how many others shared this method of video making. You could say I 'write' my videos in invisible ink. As in having no concrete plans, but rely mostly on just the 'feel'. The strange thing is when I first started 5 years ago, I was one of the 'orderly' but I guess things change. ^_^ Well, it seems to be working so far...
Of course, there is no right or wrong way, but it got me wondering which camp is larger....?
Are *you* a member of order or chaos?

Today's Makings.

I’m never good at estimating what percentage of completion my videos are in before they become ‘complete’ whenever people ask me. The answer gradually ramps up to 90-95% and stays there for like half the eventual total time. Chalk it to a habit of undergoing an error-spotting phase and being real picky of my own videos. I want them to be GOOD and I want to be happy that I’ve made them. In the end it’s never full complete but one has to leave it when one is 99% satisfied with it I guess.
Oh, I made a video today.
Well, almost. While it’s not complete (it’s reached the mid-way 90% point) it’s one of the quickest videos I’ve ‘done’ in recent memory. All my previous ones probably took over 40 hours, and across weeks, with Eva Opus well over 100+ hours and months in total. In a way I’m glad. But I’m not skimping or anything for it’s a short video so it doesn’t get so complicated like *that video* or *that other video*.
Today was productive. I like.
