  • My Turn to Comment. 2002-05-17 13:34:51 Well caught SW EP2:AOTC about 4 hours ago, it's safe to say that it's not bad, and I pretty much enjoyed it. Spoilers ahead. You have been warned.

    Some comments:
First of all, after watching the movie I am amazed at how good a job the trailers did, they alluded to many things that didn't happen the way they were pointing you to in the trailers, sorta like making fake spoilers by clever manipulation of similar scenes to pretend that they are a seamless sequence or speech. Very nice, that's my kind of trailer. I went in actually thinking that the teen will behead Dooku. Was I pleasantly surprised the fight went the other way instead. ^_^

Jar Jar is moving in the right direction. Now he can die horribly in Ep3.

Evan half-expecting it, I did enjoy the furball of yoda badness. That pose he did was priceless.

While most found it annoying, I liked C3PO's (immortal) humorous lines.

At least they broke up the romance enough to not let things drag on for too long, although they still could've done a better job at cutting down certain scenes (romance or not) or improved the cinematography to give more variety and zest to certain scenes.

The senator's choice of a reduction of fabric-wastage clothing is encouraging.

Damm do all Siths all lose their cool-bike riding skills when they turn to the dark side? On the good side, at least they get to wear black. :P

Still Dooku the Biker shot look rather embarrassing to me.

They didn't make one of those space ships blow up in mid-air, what a waste!! Damm!

I can see at least 2 games to be derived from this movie already - the EP2 the RTS and EP2 the platform game.

    Mace is the man.

Send in the (late arriving) clones.

Looks like Boba inherited Jango's equipment all too well, including the TWICE faulty jet pack. Damm that's too funny. I can see BOBA looking at the jet pack and saying 'I've got a funny feeling that some day you're going to be the death of me'.

Using spaceship guns to shoot at people (and Jedis to send them flying) is really fun.

The first chase sequence went by a little too long and too many incredible things happen.

Damm that 2 sword technique went by way too quickly, I could almost hear disappointment in the air when it ended.

Now that Ep2 has incorporated a massive (however somewhat shorter then expected, and somewhat irrelevant or much too spoiled) land battle, this basically GURANTEES that there WILL be a massive space battle in EP3, YAAY!! Arrrr 2 more years...need massive space battle....yes, capital ships exploding...mmmmmm....make lots of them explode...mmmm

Die Jedis Die! Oh, I'm terrible sorry.

Damm I said more than I expected. I might even go watch it again (place where I saw it had certain audio issues).
  • Today's Experiment........Failed. 2002-05-14 05:30:15 Yup. :(
  • My FF video. 2002-05-13 21:54:51 So I’m still wondering where most of the Final Fantasy Fans are, I think most fans still don’t know the existence of ‘The Final Wanderers’, and it would be interesting to hear their comments. Perhaps a snippet from one of the reviewers might help convince FF fans to give the video a look-see.

“Well what can I say that I haven't already said about this video months ago? Again you have one interesting match of song to footage; weird but appropriate.

This is the best FF video I've seen.”
    - Fellow Hoodlum (Creator of She’s So High and Nine Elevations).

Also got a great lengthy review today by FireStormXIII on The Final Wanderers, and it’s nice to hear the video was enjoyable to you, FS, being a Final Fantasy fan yourself, considering that it is a unique take on Final Fantasy.
  • Pain, Progress and Pleasure 2002-05-11 09:03:10 It's been a real PAIN to do precise edits using the vob files. Lots of trail and error work and a lot of effort just to time a single cut. Now I am sorta regretting editing directly from vob files. (Need faster computer!)

Despite that, with a lot of sheer effort, I've had good PROGRESS on the video so far. I've replaced a whole section or two that I didn't feel comfortable with, and it looks a lot better. Sometimes, a better footage is available somewhere else that didn't occour to you initially. With more time spent on the video and footage viewing, you can often find the best fit for the best results.

So now it's becoming a real PLEASURE watching my current build, and I'm having a good feeling about it. There's still lots to do though, I think I'm only spent about 20 hours editing the video thus far, that's not much by my standards. I can only wonder though how long before it gets released, as from my track record, videos that I complete are often released many months after (sometimes as much as half a year later). So I guess people would have to be a little patient. ^_^

Also now that I've basically completed my part of the review swap, I'll say it's been roughly a success trying it out.
  • All clear 2002-05-10 21:59:27 Ok, things are restored. The host is back up along with all my videos.
