All done....(phew)
2002-07-07 05:36:56
Finished the last 2 chapters of Neverwinter nights in an all-day gaming spree yesterday. Thank goodness that is done, the game was longer than I thought. I bascially did nothing but NVN for 2 weeks. That was bad. Good games can be really addictive.
The good thing is that I've now got time for other stuff, including music video making again....so I'm going back to 'touch' up some stuff, and re-editing parts that I didn't quite like 100%, and give it a spit shine and polish on my 'current' video......and I believe I still owe someone a review.

It has been an honor

Woot! Won Honorable Mention for Best Parody Video in the recent Mindwarp Online Summer 2002 Contest for RESIDENT EVA.
Both the videos I submitted were considered my 'small/short' projects, nowhere near the scale of Eva Opus project so it's nice to see at least one of my entries getting at least a mention.
I just saw Ian's winning entry, cool action vid, very wild. From the hype I heard I already guessed that it would be a very strong contender for a number of awards and sure enough, it did. Also found out that most of the contest winners's videos are not available for download. :(
MJ - I think naming PFS as the award itself is an even greater achievement! It's like winning everytime!

Too much fun, Too slow a computer
2002-06-20 23:29:19
GTA3 is way too much fun, but its a constant reminder that I may need a new computer soon. Really bad/spectacular accidents happen when you're having single digit framerates while trying to avoid oncoming traffic in the rain driving really fast on the road right next to the sea. (!)
You'll never thought you see the day you'll die of an truck explosion while being _underwater_, or being set on fire while in mid-air.
Updated my profile and my web page to add a list of anime shows that I've watched before - which might come in handy for future references during review swaps and the likes.
My computer also needs more HDD space (again). :(

The Good news and the bad news
2002-06-16 10:27:14
The good news is that I’m almost done with my current AMV, the bad news is that I have a few more ideas up my head for potential videos concepts, which means I may not get a break (this has been going on since February). I really feel worn out. >_<
Well, at least I feel very satisfied and happy with all the videos that I release.
It’s been 10 hours more editing on the video (75 hours so far), there wasn’t as much tweaking as I had expected to do, while a few new technical problems (effects) did present themselves, they were all systematically solved one way or another. I even managed to add some new stuff into the video to further improve it. I like that.
Typing this as I wait for the 27 minute render to complete. If all goes well, it’s time for experimenting with TMPEG encodes.
Oh and on my previous post, I should have said long vs. short projects rather than big vs. small. Usually if the video is less than 3 minutes, it’s usually a short project. As I make sure that every second in my videos is not wasted, I tend to have a fairly consistent editing hours/sec ratio. Also note that I almost never work on my video chronologically. I still find it weird that some people can stand that method. I am usually never convinced the last second I edited was the best that I can do, and to prove it, I often find better footage or ideas later my edits. And since I almost never plan out my videos in detail, everything just will have to go with the flow…..
My next one will definitely be a short video…..yup. Short is good. x.x
