The vid I'm working on has now a lot of polish, and almost finished effects. Now, a lot of watching to catch bugs.
I should also finish up my other short vid, they're both so different it's scary.
A few days ago I did a search for "Eva Potential" on the web search engines just for fun, and found out that "Eva Potential" is some kind of economic term which stands for Economic Value Added Potential. Wierd.
First dips for Akira Report opinions are still open...are people discouraged to drop opinions if a video is shorter than a certain length I wonder?

"The World's Most Dangerous AMV"

Before I forget,
That is the excelent AKA title suggested by Fellow Hoodlum of my AKIRA UNDER MY SKIN video on winning the "Nigel O'Rear Posthumous Award", awarded by Artificial Suns.
Heh. Almost monty phyton-ish. I like it.

Up and away!

So I've re-linked my new vid, "Akira Report" for download again after pulling the plug mere hours after it's debut. Do give it a shot, especially if you enjoy trailer vids, enjoy!
And I guess I should plug my other new vid too while I'm at it, "Symbolic Love Story". =P
2nd day working on my current video, mostly spent engineering some rough effects (for now), thoroughly scanning the source footage for all possible shots and shoved them in O_O, checking to make sure that the video climaxes properly when required ^_^, synching lots of cuts, footage synch (different from syching cuts), some story consistency research, some masking, etc.
Now only if the encoding would go faster...
And just for reference, I should note that my journal hits have eventually surpassed 2000 hits. Huay Huay.

Back in the groove.

I'm not sure what got into me or what I got into, but I've made the most progress I ever done in one day to cook up a solid build of a full-length, full fledged video with finished effects and all, clocking in at 4:44 minutes, after 6 hours of maniac editing, in a day. While in no way that will be the final release version (me picky), it's extremely watchable. I spend almost an hour watching it in a loop. ^_^ Mmmmmmmmmm.
Could it be that I felt that it was so easy to edit a video using avi sources compared to the super-slow-mo avisynth to vobs that I went nuts?
Could it be that while I was searching for a song to aid my illness during work the past two days that I found a song that matched the anime so well, everything just falls into place, without any prior planning whatsoever?
Weird, but I don't mind, or care. ^_^ I'm back, after taking a 2-month break from editing, and it feels good. It's nice to know that I have a healthy queue of vids in the line up for the coming months.
I'm also more convinced than ever having the right song choice is far and above the MOST important decision of any video. I love it when I find a 'perfect' match. It makes everything so simple and fun.
Let me get back to watching it again. ^_^

3-Parter Post

"Shonen Mc' DizzyCow is wondering what part he had in the matter of my "opus" video ;p I believe I talked to you once already sir about this matter. Actually, I was exclaiming to Kthulhu one day about "Misato Love shall be my Opus!", the next day DizzyCow releases "Evangelion Opus" which knocked alot of socks off and DEFLATED MY EGO so much that my project crumbled ;p. Yes Iam sure of that!! I am sure it's all your fault and your whacked Mayalasian food! and no it's not REALLY dizzycows fault >:O "
LOL. But awwww, come on Klinky, you can finish your video, think of what Misato would say! It also proves that your memory is better than mine. :P, it's all slowly coming back now.....Nasi Lemak on me whenever you drop by my place Klinky! :D
I've also streamlined my profile info, was getting way bloated and outdated. It's still long, but it's a lot leaner. I also updated my website detailing the 2 new videos of mine that I've listed here recently for those that actually go there.
Oh and I believe that I just won my coolest titled award yet, the "Nigel O'Rear Posthumous Award", awarded by Artificial Suns (VAT individual awards) for my "Akira Under My Skin" video (which BTW is still looking for hosting) at AWA
Heh. The story behind that award title sure made my day. If you are reading this don't haunt me Nigel. :P
