ok me and buma solved it cuz we're smart like that =D
the problem is "unsolvable" because the data in it is wrong
the guys paid 30 dollars, ten each
they hotel guy returned 8 dollars... which leaves 22 for the hotel
then the guy took 2 and gave each of them two
that means each paid 8 dollars to the hotel AND 2/3 of a dollar to the attendant
meaning they paid 24 dollars in total, not 22...
so that's two dollars.... and the other two dollars didn't exist to begin with.
the two dollars given to the attendant was being counted twice... as 22+4
it's actually 24 (what they paid all together) - 22 (wat they paid for the hotel
so there were only 2 dollars missing, not 4. and the two dollars went to the attendant.
