AHA!
2003-09-16 20:54:35
I guess things are starting to get back to normal...although I don't know what you would even call normal...I guess life doesn't seem so hectic at the moment. I still plan on winning the bet, but if I do, I need to really kick my writing into overdrive. I'd like to hit at least the 2000 mark by Friday and just take it from there...if not though, I'll at least take satisfaction in the fact that I'm getting pretty damn close to number 1.
Other than that, I just realized that one of my roommates has nearly 40 gigs in music...so I've been taking a few blank cds to make them mine, and now I've suddenly been immersed in listening to The Roots...(AMV possibility...anyone?). Well I'm pretty much behind in my list of AMV's to get done (and won't even begin to finish until after this bet is through on Oct. 2)...so if my interest is still around in April, then perhaps I'll pursue something...
Finally...I still don't have a net connection...bleh...the English Bldg. is too cold and I'm getting sick having to spend 15 minutes here and there trying to figure out why I'm using a Mac computer....gah!

lower than the lowest point...
2003-09-07 01:40:17
It doesn't get much worse than this...a physical sickness that's stopped my writing...But anyway, I'm still in the middle of writing of my longest review (3,428 words and counting)...but something tells me that if I want to win that I'm going to need ten times that number...it's hard, but I since there's no point to anything else I might as well use this "prop to occupy my time"...October second will be here soon enough and then maybe I can get back to some sense of normality (whatever the hell that is)...

Labor day finally carrying its' weight...
2003-09-01 21:01:48
After the loooong session on Saturday I was well on my way to finishing my "hours" video (of which I still have no title), which I sort of did today. However, there are about 20 or so touch up's that I need to go back and work through before I even consider putting it up on amv.org. I showed it to Tasha today (she swears it's ACEN worthy) and though her afterthoughts were nice, I still remain skeptical as to even entering in any contests. I just don't think it's good enough, not just for a contest, but mainly in my ability to tell a story or convey a mood (which is why I tried this project in the first place). Who knows? I might just pull through and learn to like it given the time.
Anyway, I still have no net (back at tasha's again typing this) and before I left, the power went out at the house. Gah!

I just move on...
2003-08-31 14:23:56
There had to be something above coincidence on Friday...the rain was coming down especially harder than normal and as I walked home with no umbrella, Elvis Costello's "Never Fall In Love Again" had just started playing through my headphones...was it a message?!?! Bah! Anyway, the rain is still coming down and every song that I hear just seems like it was made for me given the mood...but I do feel like I've finally moved on (in full epilogue fashion) given the talk I had with Steve (father, but I don't call him that)...Anyway, now that that's out of the way...
I still have no net access...but I put in nearly 8 hours of work into my "hours" video...it's sort of coming along nicely and I think I can be done in the coming week if I really try at it. I finally saw that "Euphoria" video (wow!) and I can finally see why it's been given 239 opinions...it's just that good...seeing that actually led me to messing around in a try-out version of After Effects 5.5 that tasha had (that lightning effect is cool to use!). Hopefully I can get my hands on a copy and mess around with it some more because the interest is definitely there. I can't wait until I start putting the finishing touches on these videos...I just wish that I hadn't waited until school started to really start putting effort into all of this...must be the bitter irony acting up again. Oh, and JAC (Japanese Anime Club) finally starts up again this Saturday...I don't think I could've been put into a better mood (well, there will always be better moods...but this one was just as great)...
Now then, more opinions to write...more videos to finish...and a decent Inuyasha wall scroll to hang...Sunday's are starting to make a comeback!

Hourly Lies and Parking Tickets...
2003-08-20 13:45:18
I ended up packing the car with most of the things I would've taken on Saturday (clothes, cd's and other random bags) as well as a bike. I made it there in record time, only taking me 90 minutes to get to Champaign (after experiencing the horror that is the Dan Ryan during rush hour -_-)...Killed every cobweb in my room and rearranged the room (still very small though, bah)...Finally paid first and last month's rent (but still have no key to the house), and I got a parking ticket!!! Me...of all people...I mean, I don't get parking tickets...I'm too swift to get tickets...luckily I was in Champaign where they only cost $10 instead of the usual $75 here in Chicago...So now I'm back (in one piece, of course)...three more days of work...three more days to finish projects (it won't happen, but I still like to think that I could do it)...
and I'm not cooking for you, Tasha... :D
