Re: Cowboy Bebop - Death is just a Dream?
I was actually really surprised I enjoyed this as much as I did. My favorite part was towards the end when you cut to the shot of the girl on the lyrics "Remember me?" Very creative work here. Loved the combination of this as well, you don't see rap too often with Cowboy Bebop.
What I didn't really enjoy were the drawn out action sequences, specifically the train fight scene and the beginning of the last fight. They just felt really out of place; those types of scenes are cool to use but primarily for action videos, and I wouldn't call this an action video. This is closer to just a concept video (might go under "Serious" depending on how far your stretch it) and those kinds of scenes don't really belong here unless they DO contribute to your concept. I understand how both of those scenes are a part of your video; they both illustrate the idea of death being an illusion/dream, which is what you were going for. Skip to the parts that are relevant to your video though, is I guess what I'm trying to say.
JUST show Spike getting shot on the train with as minimal build up to that moment as possible. JUST show the second half of that fight where Spike is about to be killed. This ensures viewers won't lose your message and keeps them focused.
In the future, if you're going to make a more surreal video like this, I'd love to see more actual surreal imagery, something that just helps add to the overall tones. I'm sure you had a few moments in this where you just didn't know what to put, so throw weird or bizarre scenes in. This would help your "dream" idea you were going for here.
3.5/5
Your video quality was alright, but there's a bluray out of Bebop now, you should see if you can find that somewhere and work with it instead. Audio quality was fine too, no further recommendations in that aspect. Also, make sure you set up your project file to be the same size as your source; this way when you do a white flash, it doesn't go on to the Letterboxing as well.

What I liked:
Scene Choice
Editing Flow
Overall Old-School/Simple Style
What I didn't like:
Letterboxing
White Flashes
Compression Quality
WMV
This is a clear throw-back style that I really really love, and I'm going to keep it because of that. However, I really, really want a nicer, cleaner version. I could barely watch this full-screened on my laptop, and that's only a 13" screen. On my 42" HDTV? No way.
If you can, go back and follow proper processing procedures and use x264/MP4 or XviD/AVI for a distro copy.
4/5, loss of that point because there is just no excuse for quality like that these days.

Re: Cowboy Bebop - Death is just a Dream?
sure agreed with the "few moments in this where you didn't know what to put" part, which would kinda explain the random dogfight scene i threw (though it vaguely matched the lyrics. and yup, i felt that i dragged some of the fight scenes a little too far too (around the end).In the future, if you're going to make a more surreal video like this, I'd love to see more actual surreal imagery, something that just helps add to the overall tones. still dont really understand the concept of letterboxing, would someone care to give me a brief definition of it ._.What I didn't like:
Letterboxing
White Flashes
plus what transitional effects could i have used instead of white flashes ? (question, not defending myself) because if i kept with the usual ones (standard fade), it would surely have made it a little dull :/. so what other transitions could i use to keep the 'simplicity' of this vid?
Also on using Nujabes, love his songs.

Overall, thanks everyone who has commented so far, ya'll have given me the feedback i wanted/needed
