Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

I think you guys need to re-read the original post of the vid in which He or She states that they only spent a 1/2 hour on the vid, that means they had some free time and made an AMV your all getting worked up over a vid that an editor really didnt take that seriously in the first place. As for people complaining that some editors suck and suck and suck no matter how many vids they put out is not nice. I have been on staff at AWA's VAT room for going on 5 years now and over the last 4 years of watching hundreds of vids I have learned that even a bad editor of the past can evolve into something great. Also the org is not a place for only the good editors, I have been on the org for years and if ya dont like what an editor made leave an opinion and some constructive criticism so that they know what to improve on. And as for MEP's ya there selective on who gets on the projects and who does not so what make some amv's show them off and when ya make one that impresses others then you might get on the next one.

Wow I can't believe there's actually intelligent people on this forum. Too many of those damn critical assholes.

Yes. Because being critical is a flaw

I mostly find it's more of the newer generation (06-07 join dates) that are OVERLY critical and look for just god like videos with every one they download. I mean, a video dosen't suck just because there are no effects... 90% of the time effects make the video suck. Just make what you want to make but be sure to at least catalog it into the database. You don't need to upload it to the server.

Agreed, especially when they're used way too much, or have no purpose. Basically to the point where you use the effects to entertain the viewer, rather than your editing...I've seen it, unfortunately.

Though this is coming from someone with "laughing at dumb noobs" underneath his avatar... :?

Anyways, it'd be interesting to see what you could come up with, kickass331, with a little more effort and planning. Good luck with your next vid. :)

Just so you know, 2 days isn't honestly that long in AMV time. A lot of people spend months and months on their vids. Granted, the goodness of an AMV usually shouldn't be depicted in the time it took to make (I've seen some good ones that were made quick) but just saying that it's good just becuase you spent more time on it, even if you didn't apply anything else you've learned, doesn't mean it will be good.
