Fillers acceptable in AMVs?

Post by TheYoshMan » Mon Apr 09, 2007 2:10 pm

Well, I've got a question about whether or not I should put the Naruto fillers into my AMV. I'm making an AMV about the relationship between Hinata and Neji (good and bad) but I'm kindof reluctant about putting the fillers into it. (Just because. Fillers stink >_>; ). So what do you guys suggest? Should I suck it up and put those fillers in there (I'm thinking more like the part of the fillers where Neji starts realizing Hinata's abilities) or just leave them out and just have the bad parts?

Thanks. ;D

Is there something drastically different about fillers visually that would make them bad as footage?

I mean hey. People make great videos out of anime that suck in general
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Fillers are really no different than the rest of the series. It's all footage, and it's all the same. It may not be what was in the "official" story, but consider it a chance to use scenes that you wouldn't normally have if you were just using the story-driven parts. Also, if you use fillers, you're going against the grain and not using all of the same old scenes that you see in every Naruto video - and with over ten thousand Naruto videos on the site, people will definitely appreciate that extra boost of originality.

In short, yeah, use 'em.

Well....compared to the regular episodes yes xD. Maybe that's just my opinion though. The fillers although hated could do my AMV good so thanks ;). Maybe I'll see where it leads me and if it needs fillers than I'll implement them. Thanks.

fillers aren't any better or worse than non-filler for making amvs (at least not for the way I make 'em)

if I needed a specific clip of say, Neji and Hinata holding hands. I could care less where in the series I got it from. Since it's usually a short clip which I'm taking out of its original context to put into a timeline with a completely independant context it [the original context] really doesn't matter in the end (to me or to my audience)

another way of looking at it is that the filler is only a filler for the storyline of the show.
If you are focusing on hinata and neji...and then throw some naruto vs sasuske in there for no reason other than to occupy some time then you have made the naruto vs sasuske portion a filler of sorts in your amv (even if it has major plot significance in the series)

...now that I look at it, both of those are kinda long-winded

is there an option to choose "naruto (fillers)" in the catalogue?

or is it just "naruto"

imo its all the same show no matter what part you use..

Use them if you believe that they will enhance your video for the better. If not, look elsewhere. Fillers or regular story arcs don't matter as stand along subjects; it's how ya use em.

Think of it this was... if someone like me who loathes Naruto and refuses to watch it decided to check out a random Naruto video and they happen to choose yours, how the hell will they know if it's from the fillers or not?

Mhmm. I don´t think that you can take out one complete storyline from fillers and put them into one amv. I doubt it.
I haven´t seen Naruto fillers or series with many fillers.

But you can always spot out scences like a shining sun or a piece of neat looking land or panorama. They are good to increase the atmosphere in your amv.
