Any apocalyptic anime?

Post by HurQlez03 » Sat Mar 24, 2007 2:16 am

I am trying to make an AMV with Linkin Park - In the End (I know, it's overused, let's move on) and I'm looking for a bunch of different anime where the end result is an apocalypse. Any suggestions?

I know NGE and Akira, but what else is there?

RahXephon...sorta.

I think the Fist of the North Star movie starts with an apocalyspe.

Yeah, FotNS starts with an Apocalypse, but it doesn't really focus too much on that. The majority of the show works with the aftermath.

For one that doesn't get a whole lot of play: 'The Ideon - Be Invoked' (besides the fact this is the movie Anno credited with inspiring EoE, the movie is basically the concept of Ragnarok in a nutshell. It's essentially a destructive final battle that destroys all involved with it (as well as virtually everything else around them.)

I can't think of any apocalyptic anime. I'm pretty there aren't any.

I've heard that Ergo Proxy is rather post apocalyptic...haven't seen it yet, so can't vouch personally.

Ep 1 of Trinity Blood illustrates the "Armageddon" as they call it - kind of apocalyptic.

But the best one I know of is probably Gilgamesh - the whole "blacking out the sky" thing rang quite a few apocalyptic bells for me.

X - TV and the movie all revolve around the Apocalypse.
