quoted for great justice.

as for me, some you know I'm doing original animation atm, but that'll take a while to complete.
I'll never bring in stuff like that in a job or anything though, that should be individual and personally important.

I actually do a lot of other video/editing stuff. That stuff is primarily why I haven't done many amv's to date. Some is for hobby, some is professional. I got my degree from college in character animation, but right now I work as a graphic artist in advertising. On the side, I'm working on several projects that are video related (an indy film, which will get shot once I have budget to get the camera I want and to pay the people I need), and some animation shorts (which may eventually end up being a bit longer than just shorts). Also working on 3 or 4 amv projects right now, several of which have some 3D character animation. My problem is I like too many things :/

I'm an editor working for Troublemaker Studios in Austin, TX. I'm currently working on two documentaries, neither of which I can really talk about, but its awesome

Working in 'the bizz' is 2 full time jobs put together, as I usually have 50-70 hour weeks, so AMVing has taken a back seat for the last year. Although from what I understand, no one really cares about AMVs anymore, and most of this forum has turned into either spam or off topic.

Climbing the Hollywood latter is not without its cool perks. I got to go backstage at Antone's (famous Austin club) and hang with groupies and various celebs and whatnot.

I do plan to do some weird live action/anime/animation video art type stuff in my free time however. Its never been done before, and you'll either hate it, love it, or think its alright.

I used to have dreams of working on Sportscenter and doing highlight reels but I've abandoned those...

I've done freelance editing on training videos and meetings/conferences for my prior company but nothing significant. I should get back in the radio biz...

I've done freelance dvd authoring for my dad's company and some family friends...

Editing wedding footage is very different than amvs. :P

I've done some freelance stuff for both the school and some people I know. It's something of a way to supplement my income *minimum wage whoot* and help out people I know. For instance, I did a freelance project that was scanning and recoloring old slides someone took in New Zealand so they could raise money for a charity by showing it.

I'm a junior visual effects artist working on a TV mini-series right now. AMVs definitly influenced what I do because I learned a lot of the basics of visual effects from making them, so it gave me a huge headstart already before I'd even entered college.

I both disagree and agree with that. I mean, I love my job and I consider it "awesome", so the money is just a (very handy) bonus. But at the same time, it's definitely burning me out on the AMV side. I mean, I go to work all day and do rotoscoping, and then I come home to do... more rotoscoping? :?

I'm taking a Digital video producer course at a private college in Amsterdam right now. So far its just bin translating what I know to different systems (Mac) but along with that also the producer end. I've always souly work worked from a artist/designers perspective with other in field jobs so this is what will push things for me.

Ones I finish this course and maybe something ells in the near future, I'll start looking at an actual studio. Along with that myself and a few other locals on these boards are already working on taking on actual motion graphic jobs as it is. I guess we're waiting for a certain someone to get DSL, so we can start completely standardizing our setups thus creating better work flow.
