The timeline screenshot thread...

Post by Douggie » Thu Dec 07, 2006 4:04 pm

I don't know if there was ever a "post a screenshot of the timeline of your project" thread (wish you could search on only the topic title, instead of message), but I thought I would start one. I was always wondering how complex and/or organized the timelines of their Premiere / After Effects / Vegas / whetever projects looked like, so please post your timeline!

I guess I would be the first then! My first AMV Steadier Mind - probably a bit unorganized, but I think there are people who can be even more unorganized!

I had to enter the AMV to a con where the resolution had to be 720x480 (I think) and Mind game was 720x352 (or something like that) without the black borders. I moved around stuff up and down and because it would go over the black borders, I just added the 2 borders (upper and lower) to hide it (it this makes any sense). I probably could've edited in another resolution and used something (AVIsynth maybe?) to add the borders, but I didn't thought of that back then.

This is the timeline for my most recent (already completed) REC video:

This video was purposely simple, and I kept everything on two tracks (besides the black border on the third track, to make cropping easier). My timelines always end up looking like this, though; I try to stick everything on as few tracks as I can to make it less confusing. It's much easier to navigate and pinpoint problems.

Ok this is less about the complexity of the editing - and more about the Waveform itself, I had fun editing with that.

I only took a timeline screenshot for one of my videos. Nothing too complex, just a lot of short edits on 2 time bars.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Substance
Final Doom "Amazing things will happen here soon."

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Substance "Everyone knows that it's a dangerous substance."
