Nah, they'll still know it. Like Infinity Squared said, re-runs. Cartoon Network was broadcasting Astroboy last month (at least here in Brazil). Astroboy first broadcasted in Japan in 1963, and the kids who were born in 2001 have already had a chance to catch it. I doubt we'll have mass-produed Astroboy videos in four years because of it, but the same can happen to DBZ, Bleach or Naruto in thirty years (and probably a few hundred times before that).-Bauzi- wrote:Yes in ten years nobody will still know LP, DBZ and Evangelion.
Naruto will be at ep. 3012
But as overused as these anime are, they still have their merit. 1000 monkeys making DBZ AMVs for 1000 years would eventually do something good, even if it's not Shakespearean. Advent Children, for example is very well animated and using footage from the movie is an easy way to get some eye-candy going for your video. Sure, the 10^999 to 1 proportion of bad videos is as annoying as a flock of drunken parrots, but no one forces us to watch all of them (which is great, because I need time to perform vital functions like eating).
The most that can happen is, when some other shounen hero comes along and kicks Naruto from his throne, people will stop giving straight 10s to every crappy Naruto AMV out there, and start giving straight 10s to the other guy. And the wheel goes round and round and round...
