lol! no, but if you'd notice there is a trend. In the good ole days all the averages where were they SHOULD be, 7-ish.

And who are you to say where the averages SHOULD be?

Did you not consider that perhaps the average quality of the videos being opped is actually rising? And/or that people don't give as many ops to the worse videos anymore?

And then I left, and came back a year later, the averages were 8+ and cliques roamed the announcement sections, so much that many people were AFRAID to announce their stuff!

What "cliques"? And in any case, I don't get why people would be any more afraid to announce their videos because of that.

uh... if things were truely avarage on a scale of 1-10 then the avarage should be around 5 :/

nono, sorry to disagree. But we as creators like to be BETTER than average. So, yes, the average as in logical average is of coarse, 5. But the average SCORE accheived on this site should, imo, be about 7 (a bit higher than 5, but not perfect) ;p.

what cliques? are you serious?? I mean it's good that since than, there aren't Euphoria/ Beast fanboy fights any more, but there are STILL HUGE biases being thrown around. I doubt ANYBODY can ever get passed that. People just like going to where they KNOW they can expect something good! But my point is just, it's better now ;p I like that!

Yeah...like, you-become-jaded-as-you-watch-more-videos-so-you're-impressed-less-with-newer-ones-
because-you've-seen-it-all-before type of thing, right?

As for the audio...I've found that scoring audio is pretty much a cut-and-dry type of thing. Either it's good or it's not. There are exceptions, of course, but for the most part it seems to be a pretty black-and-white category.

so in other words on a scale of 1-10 you would like to see everyone get C's rather than Fs.... converting it to a grading scale of course...

but you gotta remember each teacher has their own grading curve as well as each person on this site, and not all grading curves are going to be around the "normal" avarage :/

each person has a different experience level... therefore they will have a different opinion curve :/

for an example: i used to give out 8s on visual quality even when they had subs cause the quality was decent... now i give out 5s and 6's for subtitles... my experience has shown me its NOT THAT HARD to crop them out so really either 1. someone doesnt know, or 2. they are too lazy (or have excuses as to why their video has to have subs) either way my experience has changed my attitude towards visual quality because i learned more, therefore i have less tollerence for it.

also i used to watch alot of videos with subs, and then my grading curve changed as my own experience level and preferences changed...

i used to enjoy vids with low quality cause the "person tried so hard" O.o and i guess i was giving them "sympathy credit" for "hard work" now i realize it wasnt really hard work, especially now that i know what real hard work can make :/

I always got the feeling that nothing ever changed on the average score of opinions. And I think that's because this is still a fanbased community and as long as people come here to watch Naruto videos instead of good videos the scores will be fucked up.

I don't get where this has a connection in any way to the cliques on the forum. Aren't we active users on here still the minority on the general site?

lol I compressed my FFV video with ABPCM LOSSLESS audio. It sounds MUCH better than mp3. bigger, but not as big as uncompressed... about 2/3rds the size. a little bigger than the highest mp3 setting

If you mean "ADPCM", then it is quite likely that you are indeed losing information. The sampling frequency may be the same as your input frequency, but the 4 bits used to describe the differences between samples isn't enough to exactly reconstruct the input signal.

To some people, this may sound worse than MP3/Vorbis/AAC/whatever. I know that's the case for me: ADPCM-compressed audio introduces a kind of clinking sound that I find to be rather unpleasant.

I have to disagree. Because for every 10 or 20 bad ones there is a good, different and unique Naruto video, but then again that also goes for every video on this site. You may have not experienced this for some of your videos but, as for the sound goes, I have gotten bad op's for just using hiphop, a fucking music genre, using qreat quality. Everyone has their own op about everything, but even so ops are mainly distorted by personal peference
