Art / comic strip contests?
I don't remember how this idea came to me, I think I was working on a comic strip or something. Anyways, so a-m-v.org has a banner contest and an amv contest. I was wondering if maybe an art contest or comic contest would be interesting and doable on the .org? I'm sure their is tons of talent on the .org.
To spice it up you could make a comic contest. For instance people submit comics, (Example rules: panel limits, size limits, etc...) They draw their anime characters or mak comics using photoshop... It's pretty simple really. It's a good chance for people to show how artsy they can be and how humorous they can be. The comics are collected for a week or a month and the winner is displayed on the a-m-v.org main page for the duration untill a new winner is found. The voting can be done the same way banners are done.
I'd go with only a week though because seeing the same comic for a month is kinda boring. Anyways just a thought, I'm not really an artist but It's a creative idea for the .org to increase its constest and crafts options.

"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

It has nothing to do with AMVs, though. The banners, contrary to popular belief, aren't only there so you can play with Paint. They're there to plug the org. That's why you have to have the logo on them.
There are other websites for graphics and comics contests, as well as all of the other hobbies that editors do in their non-AMV-editing free time.

I think its a great Idea,
I for one am a artist, but I'm not too witty
, so if any has an idea for an anime joke, pm me and supply my with pics for the characters you want in the strip and I'll see what I can do

Re: Art / comic strip contests?
It's been done. A while back Phade set up a contest for envelope art with prizes and everything. I think it lasted two months.Eva-Fan wrote:I don't remember how this idea came to me, I think I was working on a comic strip or something. Does anybody else remember that?

I remember. I didn't know he stopped doing it. Oh well. I doubt it was getting much use, anyway (which, incidentally, is probably why he stopped it.) o_Omadbunny wrote:It's been done.
