Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Thank you all very much for your feedback. :) I'm glad some of you think it's my best video, because I really did want to use this last chance to push my limits a bit.

Exactly. I used to have so much fun editing, and thats why I've done it for so long, but now I've started having to force myself to open Premiere and just start editing in order to see the final result. Kind of kills it for me.
I hope you will stay a while longer in the community as a non-editor. :D
I plan to.
requiett wrote:It's definitely your best video, but do you really feel comfortable with having your last work being remembered as the one full of Trapcode Shine on default settings?
But the default settings looked all nice and "firey"... >_>
Dark-Krystal wrote:For your retirement, I just don't understand one thing. You tell that short projects aren't interesting for you, but it means you have time to create it. And if you have time to create short projects, you have time to create long projects, it's just a question of time. You can just edit sometimes when you want, without stress or anything else... Even if you need 3-4-5 months for a video (in my opinion), it's not a real problem ^^. hum, it was just my opinion.
If I spread out the time I use to make a video, just a little bit of editing here and there, I tend to lose interest in the video very quickly. I see it in its incomplete stage for so long, I get tired of it, and in the end it doesn't seem as special to me when it's done. So to me it really wouldn't be worth it to try and do that, when I have a feeling an AMV like that just wouldn't be satisfying.
Warheart wrote:the song was awesome but the anime and the overuse of fractal-noise and trapcodeshine killed it for me pretty much.
I was a little worried that some people would think some of the effects were over-the-top (particularly in the childhood section), but in the end I decided I liked the mood they gave off. Too bad you didn't like this video that much, but thanks for the feedback anyways.

How is she attention whoring?? Would you rather she just fade into the background and let others think for years, "what the heck happened to silver_moon anyway?" I know I'd want to know if someone's quitting. She knew this would be her last vid, so why keep it a secret? :?

At any rate, everyone needs to download this vid, because it's awesome. :D

As I was reading this thread, the Winamp's shuffle feature tracked to the song used and started playing. Rather eerie.

I see how the terms are used and can be applied. Although, I would think it would be an overexaggeration for the parts she played in this community. IMO, it's like how Jay-Z "retired" from the Hip Hop Industry, except this would have a more positive feedback. I think if someone like me allova sudden say this is my last and no more vids, people wouldn't give a damn or two, except for the MEP coordinators who'd be pissed or dissapointed by not me going on my word. Then I'd be attention whoring, and most likely be causing negative feedback, or none, rather than positive ones like silver_moon received. So this is more of an announcement due to her roll in the community. Or something like that. btw nice vid.

For now, I'm staying. My own last vid will probably be finished next year sometime.

We were both planning on quitting after AWA Pro this year, but I switched ideas and didn't end up getting my final project into Pro.
