Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

From the Ashes (my last video)

Post by silver_moon » Sat Sep 23, 2006 10:43 pm

Some of you might recognize this video from the AWA Pro discs (it won Best Character Profile and was nominated for Best Drama and Best Storytelling).

Title: From the Ashes
Anime: Full Metal Alchemist
Song: "Hollow" by Submersed
Link: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=129345

I have to say this was the most time-consuming AMV I've made, and it'll also be the last video I'll ever make. I purposely tried to make my last video be my best one. (If you want to see my reasons behind my retirement you can read my journal).

So, I hope you enjoy it. Comments are appreciated!

Well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do, but I'll miss your videos. I definately know where your comming from, with the whole editing becomming stressfull lately, especially with how high the bar is getting set lately, and your expected to always do better than your last video. This is just a hobby afterall, and a hobby thats not fun anymore is pretty pointless.

Now let me download this one (if you have made improvements since the one I saw already) before I comment on the actuall video ;p

Shoulda at least came to AWA for your last video premeire and claimed your prize in person ;p (then I could've met you also ;p)

I'm fairly new into the world of anime/amvs but i can tell you're a rare talent that will be greatly missed. Good luck and who knows what the future holds.
Cheers

That was great, really great. I nominated it for many categories even though I knew it was mostly likely going to be in direct competition with my own entry. :)

It's saddening to see you retire from AMVs, but you've left a footprint on this community that I'm sure will not be easily washed away in the coming years. Thank you for all your wonderful videos. I hope you will stay a while longer in the community as a non-editor. :D
