Portrait de Petite Cossette - Painful Obsession

Post by MiyaDV » Thu Aug 31, 2006 7:04 am

Title: Painful Obsession
Anime: Le Portrait de Petite Cossette
Song: Papa Roach - Scars
Codec: .h264
Link: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... _id=127423

I used Vegas 5.0 to edit.

This is my first time encoding with .h264 so please leave feedback on how the quality is, hope you enjoy the vid ><

Also if you don't know how to play (sure most of you do xD) You can download VLC Player, which will play it.

Whoa, I have to admit that video is very convincing for being a first. I like the fact that you used h264 since the quality is nice and sharp and the filesize is ok, could be smaller but I don't really care since it shows you really looked into the technical sides which is a large bonus. About the video itself: I guess it's a two edged sword, I like some of the sceneselection and lyricssync it really fits but on the one hand some scenes seem unfitting since they're to calm for the music (2:40). But still I like the atmosphere altough I tought the song is to mellow for the anime at first it really works if you watch it a little longer. The effects are also fitting but in my opinion unnecessary so next time use them more efficently or just leave them be and focus more on editing- actionsynch. But yep for a first try that really impressed me. :)

You had some great scenes in it, well done ( I think vegas is not that easy, okay maybe only for me :P ) and the quali of the video is very nice ^^

Hey, great video!

This is probably the first Cossette video I've seen that depicts the anime more for what it is, rather than some weird romance or misunderstood character story. Beat sync was decent, but it was the lyrical sync that really held this one up. Nicely done on the encode - it looks very clean.

With a first submission like this, I can't wait to see what you come up with next. ^_^

The cheesyness is stupid,
and I think the good quality hurts it. I was hoping for some scenes to be completely fucked up looking because of all the close up shots. Overall was dull.
Also the video could have less contrast through the whole thing. It was always dark or bright and hard on the eyes.
Some parts also could of moved faster since I personally was never lost once with the editing. I never wondered to myself what just happened because it was always obvious. NO trickery which can be fun to have even just once.

Download if you are into lyrics and super emotional images matching.

I liked it, though I had to convert it to play it smoothly. These x264 encodes never work for me on a Mac--even playing in VLC on a G5.

That was pretty good. A few guitars here and there were missed, but ya, first video, it's all good :D

Keep up the great work :)
