I was thinking the same thing... it makes you look like you knew what you were doing. qft
my brother says this hobby sucks, amvs suck, etc.. mainly because they take no tallent.. you can just throw a bunch of clips together and things magically synch. I rememeber a long time ago someone was asking me how they do it and i opened up my editing program.. threw an amv in the timeline, took out the audio, replaced it with some new music, pressed play and everything seemed to synch and work out.. and i was like.. "well you try to time to the music, but it seems this is already doing it without me trying" and he seemed to think then it looks damn easy to do. I used amv footage because that is the only anime footage i had on my computer.
you may have heard of it.. there is this one video called "One Step Closer to the Ballz" and people thought the guy put effort into it until he revealed in a thread that all he did was paste three clips side by side and added the audio.. thats it. it had ok reviews until he revealed what he did in a thread flaming amvs.. i didn't get the chance to see the thread because it got deleted but I heard it had a lot of good points of why amvs suck. that thread was created by my brother and his friend made the video.
wished I saw that thread.

Well he seems to like some of Tsunami Jones vids.. mainly because they are fu**ing weird.
Well it's something he shows interest towards when I happen to be playing one of his vids while he's at my house.
I mean WTF??

lol that other guy would be suprised to find out. GOOD amvs involve original and unique costum made effects or at least effect that are implamented in original ways.x_rex30 wrote:hahaAthenAltena wrote:I was thinking the same thing... it makes you look like you knew what you were doing. When Arigatomina OPed my Digimon vid, she gave me this huge essay on action synch and told me about 9 things that had perfect synch that I wasn't even trying to do.AthenAltena wrote:Has anyone here ever looked at video after it's finished and realized that you synced to something without realizing it? I was looking at one I finished last week and suddenly realized that many of the transitions were on the downbeat of the drummer, specifically when the footpedal hits. I hadn't known what I was doing at the time, but I did it nonetheless.
Anyone else had that happen?
Hahaha. So yeah.

That's why the song's waveforms are placed right beneath your clips...
