Otakon amv - kinos journey

Anime: Kino's Journey
Song: Street Spirit (Fade Out) by Radiohead

This just played in the AMV contest at Otakon. It's pretty dark and serious and had the misfortune of running right after a GTO comedy video. So I don't think it got many votes. But a few people have told me they really enjoyed it. It actually premiered at Animazement a few weeks ago and got 2nd place in Drama there.

Also, I think more than a few people picked up the series at the dealer's room after watching it - which is kind of the idea.

It was good, as we spoke about at Vic's last night.

I liked it.

Poor bunny.

Interesting video.. I don't understand the lines going through the screen.. was that to add a certain effect? I thought it was more annoying that anything. Besides that no other pet peeves.. Nicely done.. good job with mood synch.

The director put those lines in on the original footage. It is part of the source, not an intetional effect by Walter or a processing error.

I actually experimented with filtering out those lines using vertical blurs and such, but in the end I decided to keep them in order to be faithful to the choices of the original director.

The bunny death episode (#2) is I think one of the best, and probably deserves a couple of viewings. You see how much Kino wrestles with the ethics and significance of taking a life. I try to indicate a bit of that in the video by showing her removing her hat to honor the rabbit (itadakimasu). But it goes by pretty quick.

What a treat! Something new from Graven Image. The first vid I saw of yours was The Flood at AWA 7. I've watched for your videos ever since, they never cease to impress... And this is no exception.
