Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

9/10, Would have been 10/10 had you had CONSISTENT aspect ratios. Sadly, you did not, and it really, really bothered me.

 WOW  that was a lotta work. A+ SERIOUSLY, the only problem was the ar on AC. I can see why you kept it that way though. I agree this is a must see.

*wipes tear of shear happiness away from eye*

I'm just so grateful that all the time I spent putting into this amv seems to have been worth it thus far. Thank you devilmaykickass, Stolen Soul, Daisuke Z!, Sierra Lorna, Kionon, and blaku92 for your feedback. And last but not least, thanks for your support Jen.

Kionon, with regards to the aspect ratio problem mentioned, I was rather puzzled as to how to deal with that situation. DoC's, FFX-2's and AC's aspect ratios are all different from one another. So I thought the best way to handle the situtation was to make all the footage match FF7AC's, by stretching some of the footage out in premiere. I admit, I'm far from being an expert when it comes to conserving aspect ratios. Somewhere along the exportation process, something gets screwed up that I just don't notice.

I'd love some opinions on how to fix this problem for the future. Who knows. I still have the original project file. I could fix the aspect ratio issue now for this amv if I knew a good way to go about it. Local link is pretty much set in stone, but I can do whatever I want with that indirect link. =)

well I am downloading it, but I not sure I want to actually watch it yet as I am another one that wants to play the DoC game when it comes out and would rather not be spoiled of anything in that game ahead of time.

having spoiled bits and pieces of DoC for myself, I don't acutally feel the footage I showed would utterly ruin DoC's story for you. Granted there are definately going to be some characters the likes of which you'll have no clue who they are. And if you consider that spoilerish, then you should stay away. Admittedly, what people consider and don't consider spoilers is more or less up to personal opinion. devilmaykickass, felt I spoiled a little bit too much for him, so you may feel the same way.

In any case, while I am eager to get all the feedback I can for this, I can more than understand if DoC spoilers keep you or anyone from seeing this. But that's ok though. As I said before, it won't be long till the game comes out. Buy it/rent it/borrow it, beat it, then watch this. I can wait.

by the way, I just wanted to say that should you happen to like the original japanese version to the song, then feel free to open up Vdub and replace the english version with the Koda Kumi version. It synch's up just as well for the most part. Just don't be an ass and complain when Yuna's lip synch is off. =P

Ah, Premiere sucks at resizing, don't do it that way. Use Virtualdub instead, with Avisynth if you know how to use it. Basically what you want to do is crop off the sides on the widescreen footage, like FF7 AC, then resize it back to 720x480, to make it fullscreen. This guide will tell you lots about frame sizes and other tips for getting good quality, if you haven't read it already:

http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... index.html

And Local's not necessarily set in stone either, you can request to delete it, and just let them know that you want to re-upload a higher quality version. I know I'd love to see it. :)

^^Thanks for that. I'll definately be looking into it.

As for replacing the local the version, I'll see. It just doesn't seem right wasting the mods time for something I could replace on my own through the indirect link. So just for now, the indirect link will have to do if you want any updated versions of this amv. I'll check up on it daily just in case megauploads goes down and it needs to be re-uploaded somewhere else. Once again, thanks for the heads-up with regards to my aspect ratio issue.

Never thought I would like a video that uses this song. This video is really impressive. I enjoyed it. :D

You know this was great. The best one I've seen from you yet. My opinion itself explains it all. Great job.
