Sweet mother! I rank Masane the HOTTEST MILF I have ever seen! I mean geez! And her loli daughter seriously looks like she's straight from Ichigo Mashimaro. Hmmm....*mind goes off to tabooish regions*

Anywho, based on the first episode it looks like that Masune is pretty ditzy, and her daughter Rihoko seems to always keep her under control. They do have a nice, solid mother-daughter relationship going on so that's good.

Of course it's was pretty hearting when the Social Service tries to break those two up. Masane does prove to herself that she won't let anything happen to her.

Of course I was laughing a bit at the ridiculous amount of sexual innuendos when Masane transformed into the Witchblade, and when she's fighting some evil mecha with lots of drills (somewhere in the near future, I bet she'll face some robotic tentacle monster)!

Pretty standard stuff as far as introductions in the first episode is concerned combined with the usual above average quality from Gonzo (except on certain scenes where they can't seem to size Masune's breasts at consistant proportions). Another guilty pleasure series for me!

I predict lots and lots of clothing shredded during battles ala Ikki-tousen style.

Is it just me, or is Gonzo just kicking serious ass on pretty much all of it's high profile animation in terms of quality these days?

I caught the first episode but haven't seen any of the others yet. This has to be a rarity of an American comic book turned into an anime, but it looks like it'll adopt its own story. I agree that one scene in the first episode was pretty heartbreaking. And the ending sequence is really cute.

Not totally surprising, but....

I guess it's a shoe-in for any Gonzo series going to FUNimation due to their relationship though I'm very interested of how it'll do on Adult Swim once they agree on broadcasting it.

Jeez. They sure are quick to license stuff these days. But Funi's done a good job with most of the stuff they've released lately, so that's good in a way.
