X - Believe By MastaG

A friend told me that i should post my AMV in the forum so more people can see it and judge it. I really want you guys to tell me what you think and please don't hold back ;) i have to learn from my mistakes in order not to repeat them. This is basicly my first AMV because it's the first i've compleeted 100% and i'm not adding nothing more to it. (sorry if my english is bad but in english classes we play cards ;)). This AMV's song is Limp Bizkit - The One, a song that i really don't like, i don't like even LB anymore but in order to compete in a BG Online AMV Contest i had to created an AMV with this song which was choosed by the previos contender. Then because i don't like the song i thought if i use an anime which i really like i can create a good amv with that song. So i started the end of January but i've stopped just before the contest, so i didn't participate. Then another contest Steel Editor 2006 On-line AMV Contest apeared so really thought that this time i can compleeted it, but i still couldn't finish it so i participated with a late alpha version i didn't win of course. And finally in the end of March i found the time to finish it and so i did. So now i'm happy :) The anime is X TV / X Movie because i really licked them the main character is Fuma because he's the best. Hope you like it :)

ps. i'm posting the Announcement in the forum a bit late, but i had a problem and needed to re-upload the video ;)

Best typo ever. I was going to bitch about compression, and still am, try h.264 encoding such as x.264, or experiment more with xvid, but licking the anime gives this an extra star. I'll post a review some time after its done.

Ever = as far as short term memory goes. I really hope there's a reason this is 99 mbs for a reason, or the error is huge. Is it done yet? I should probably sleep..... spammy>Sammy>ASM>really should be putting this time to good use.

Obviously you spend more time on the wrong end of such humor. A good natured jest gone horribly awry? No, though, what is get a life anyways? You mean join the ranks of popsa?

So... you want people to not hold back in their opinions so that you can learn from your mistakes, and then you fly off the handle when someone makes a light-hearted comment about your spelling.

I'm getting mixed messages here.

Well, just so you can actually get some feedback on the video (and by the way, your English really isn't that bad, honestly), I downloaded this. I love X, so that was an added incentive. Here are my thoughts:

The Good
+ very good beat sync - you obviously have a good sense of rhythm, because all of the scene changes felt right.
+ video resolution - nice and big, but not too much.
+ scene choices - for the most part, I thought you chose scenes that represented the lyrics well, even though I don't think the song fits the anime as well as it could.

The So-So
+- the use of effects - some of them were great, and some just didn't work at all. Effects shouldn't be used just for the sake of using them, but rather to enhance the story or the visuals somehow.
+- lip sync - very rarely does it ever work in a serious video, and it really didn't work here.

The Bad
- video quality - it was okay in some parts, but there was a lot of graininess in many of the scenes; also, I saw some artifacts, especially in the last two minutes.
- audio quality - there were some pops and crackles, and it was generally tinny throughout
- use of the movie - honestly, you used the movie so infrequently as a main visual element in the video that you could have just left it out completely. The changing visual style is a bit of a distraction, especially knowing that the TV series had plenty of good scenes you could have used in place of it. Maybe this last one is more of a personal preference thing, but I thought it should be mentioned.

One last thing, about the filesize. For the video/audio quality, as well as the length of the video, this was a very large file. As a general rule of thumb, you should allot between 10 and 15 MB for every minute of video. This video, since it was about six minutes long, probably should have been somewhere around 60-70 MB. If you're not sure how to get the filesize lower, consult the guides and I'm sure you'll find something that can help. While a huge file may not seem like a big deal to you, keep in mind that you're narrowing your audience. Not every one can download a 100 MB file, due to a poor internet connection. In these situations, even cutting the filesize down by a few megabytes makes a huge difference to some people. Keep in mind, it takes a dial-up user several minutes just to get one MB. So, filesize is very important, and it could make or break a potential downloader from getting your video. It's something to remember.

Overall, I did enjoy this video. I don't like Limp Bizkit very much, but you edited to their music pretty decently. Good job, and I hope this helps. ^_^
