1000 hits or less: Round 2

Post by silver_moon » Wed Feb 15, 2006 11:16 pm

Since I thought the original 1000 hits or less thread was so useful, I wanted to start up another one to see if I can find any more good, underrated vids. :) You can find the first 1000 hits or less thread here (if you didn't see this one when it was first posted, you should definitely check it out... there's some great recommendations in there).

So basically, same rules as last time:

- Post a vid that has 1000 hits or less (hits, not downloads) that you think is really good and deserves more attention
- Please DO NOT recommend your own video
- Feel free to post more than once if you find more good vids that deserve a recommendation

So I'll start this with my own recommendations:

Forsaken by Clodo - One of the nominations for Best First Video in this year's VCAs. A very artistic and dramatic End of Evangelion AMV. Probably my new favourite to this anime... looks very professional, you would never guess it's this editor's first.

One More Beginning by krzT321 - A sentimental Chrno Crusade vid that just got released a few days ago. It's very pretty, flows very nicely, and overall just has great editing.

Fight for Life by moviegear - An awesome FF7:Advent Children action AMV made for the Akross Con 2005. I love watching this one.

Smile by Troyan - Another Akross 2005 vid. It's a very pretty, dramatic Air video set to an Instrumental.

Lightspeed Rush by Kisanzi
- A fast-paced action/dance video to a little-used anime. Some very original effects, and just overall really fun to watch.

End and Beginning by Yorae - A very uplifting various AMV. This video is what made me go and buy this song.

I'm looking forward to some good recommendations.

Move by ShadowNOS
This one deserves recognition, just because they were able to take a footage problem, and turn it into an asset.
A well done action vid using s-CRY-ed. I liked how it was put together, especially the beginning. Lip sync was pretty good too (imo)

The Curse of Saturn by jasper-isis
This definitely deserves more attention than it has been receiving lately. If you'd like to see some suspense or horror without the gore, this is one to check out. Visual effects are well done, and the audio editing is top-notch. Even if you're not into this genre, get it for its awesome music (themes from Card Captor Sakura!). :)

JCD's Life's Futakoi. He can do more than just flashy, dance video; he can put out a really spiffy romance, drama video that's partially wierd! :D

Incomplete I by Sqilr
Despite there being plenty of good eva amv's, I've never seen one capture the spirit of eva, or my interpretation of it anyways, like this video. "So fucked up."

First would beDisappointment by bluetrain. This video has a nice atmosphere, good lyric-sync that doesn't interrupt the flow or mood, and the majority of the effects are executed well.

Just barely under 1000, there's Cromartie Rhapsody by Fall_Child42. The combination itself is just so right, and the editing is above-par. It's got a high replay value for me.
