A shout out to AMV makers, and some knocking >.>

It seems people will use the music they have grown up with. Most of the music here is from the last ten years because most of the editors here are young people. This is why the amv's I've made are mostly to bands from the 60's and 70's. People tend to use what they know. I don't think many of you have heard much music from the Doors, Blood Sweat and Tears, The Who, or the Moody Blues or many others from 40 years ago. I have nothing against Linkin Park or any other band, but I still enjoy the music from my school days the best, that's why I use it.

for me I accually try to use somthing that isnt used here, hip hop. Partially b/c ppl keep saying that hip hop doesnt fit amvs, but yet I can continue to prove ppl wrong. Its tough, but seeing the same things is quite annoying. I can see where your comming from. LP is nice, and it does make the perfect music for an amv, but if you wanna be unique, you need to find your own style of amv.

P.s. If you want a super successful amv, don't use hip hop. You'll get really bad op scores just because it's hip hop.

The only time I ever hear mention of whether or not hip hop works in AMVs is when someone who uses hip hop is defending their usage, when, really, I don't think they need to. I've never heard someone say "Gee. Hip hop sure doesn't work in an AMV" and I've never thought that myself.
