transition between day and night footage

I was told (in an action video) a switching of scenes like this would confus the viewer and someone suggested there was a subtle way of doing it.
I dunno like have the night for heavy song moments and day for light
(im using a slipnot song my plague)

I would say just sort of clump each kind together and don't switch back and forth too much. But what do I know about action vids...

Fade from day to night when it feels appropriate in the song I guess.

If the lyrics suggest "day" or "night," that might be a good que to switch. Otherwise, fading between the two should make the transition understood. It still depends on what you're trying to accomplish with the relation though; I don't think just doing it for no reason is a good idea.

It really depends on what kinda of video you're making and what you're going for. If you are going for continuity then you should probably rethink why you are using the clips like that. If you're just going for action or comedy then it might turn out so bad since the audience's attention should be on the foreground, just don't cut back and fourth between to two too often then it becomes distracting, not confusing.
