Best Overall - OnnaFest ('The Promise') available

Video Title: The Promise
Audio: 'My Sweet Prince' by Placebo
Visual: Utena TV Series
Winner of Best Overall and 2nd place Romantic/Sentimental video at OnnaFest 2005. (Thanks to those who voted for it).
*Warning* This video contains massive spoilers for the end of the Utena TV series, if you haven't seen the end, I wouldn't want to ruin this great serious for you.
The video is all about Touga loving Utena (His Sweet Prince), but that Utena has a destiny to fulfill, that she is 'the one'. That she must be the one to rescue and save Anthy.
I hope people enjoy it, and leave feedback. File is almost 100megs, and in divx or xvid...not sure which I put up.

I'm downloading it but probably won't watch it because I just bought the entire series on Amazon and don't want to spoil it.
I'll let ya know after i finish it in about three months or so

An ocean of dust and randomly strung together pieces of hydrogen, serving no purpose other than allowing all of us to continue in our misery, doomed to an enternity of petty squabbles and meaningless ego trips, until the whole thing one day explodes and starts the whole shebang all over again. - Chaos_Angel

(Oooh, I was gonna use those two shots of the joined hands - near the end - combined like that in something, but never finished it. Glad to see I wasn't the only one who thought that'd look really cool. That and the idea that the carousel should be used more. Very much in agreement.
And I completely forgot about that shot of Utena in the elevator, which tells you how often that gets used.)
Congratulations on the win, that's awesome. I'm glad to see a good treatment of Touga and Utena's non-relationship, since that gets overlooked pretty often. And Anthy's part in it is dark and a little creepy, also a point that gets overlooked in favor of the romance. I like how the waltz style worked with this series, too. Reminds me of the fairytale theme.
I was wondering why the file was so huge when the animation in this series isn't that detailed - uncompressed audio. Ah well. That's a technical thing.

first impressions:
Song - not my cup o' tea but I think that you've utilized it extremely well. The slow pace works very well with the mood you've set within it.
Video - never watched Utena so I have not basis for the story, but the clips you've used really carry the emotion and weight of your theme. I just don't get the guys taking off their coats and stuff, but I digress
technical - audio was very good, but the video really suffers a lot. I know that this dvd is a problem, but I think that this AMV would really shine with a lot of cleaning up. There was a lot of pixelation at the end (merry-go-round scenes) and it just distroyed the mood of the piece.
overall, dispite the video problems, I really like this vid - I can see why it won at Onna. Great work, and if you want, I'll do an op exchange with you (you can op my Onna entry in my sig line
