Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

New Lain Video

Post by JudgeHolden » Mon Oct 10, 2005 8:57 pm

Well here is my new video.

Confessions
Anime: Lain
Song: Losing My Religion
Artist: R.E.M.
Special Guest appearance by R.E.M.

This is my most effects heavy vid, so flaws might be there. Drop me a comment on what you find, so I can fix them.

Thanks,
JH

Well, as far as stuff in the effects that seemed "off", I'd say the lip synching in some of the masked in live action stuff is a second late, maybe less. Other than that, it wasn't a strobing color attack in terms of effects, and the actual video was conceptually sound enough to work.

I'll probably give this one a 4, since I can't give it a 3.5 There are some synching issues with certain things that keepi t from being a flat out 4, and, even though I like the song, it does tend to drag on, which kinda makes the video drag a bit.

Ya, I think when I rerendered a few things, that those two syncs got off just a hair .... Darn it. :)

Great job! I liked every thing except the visual and audio quality was a bit of a turn off.. didn't seem that clean to me.

That's all I saw, too. Nice job! Now I have to pull out my REM discs and listen to it all over again...

Interesting and rather original. I'll keep it.

Thanks guys! It's nice to see people enjoying it, even with that minor flub. :)
