Basically the same. It just felt like "In My Mind" but watered down a bit. A nice video but not too much replay value. Just felt you couldn't done more.silver_moon wrote:Wow, that was really cool. Your vids never cease to amaze me. The scenes of the microphone and the singer's mouth were repeated too often for my tastes, but the editing was just fantastic. 5/5

Well the link seems me obvious... Fortunely, I'm not the one to think it's obvious. Don't search story or links between the characters, it's useless. The single link between them is that they should be seen at the same level, without judgment or explanations (I repeat myself -_-)shishlik wrote: i guess what i didn't like about it the most was that you used so many different animes that i couldn't find any link between the different scenes to what the singer was saying.
my second failure at understanding you vid, oh well...
I haven't search to sync the videos with the lyrics. It's the more easy way to make a video. I did it often, but I'd try to do something else. I searched here to keep a thema, to create a general atmosphere to show it. Moreover, lyrics sync can be sometimes ridiculous, especially when it's edited word by word.
I understand somr people doesn't like, everyone has his own tastes... but It seems me weird some people doesn't understand the video, it's not really complicated

NME2 wrote:It certainly wins my award for worst audio quality that fucking ruins my enjoyment of the video. Did you use a 128kbps mp3 as your audio source?
Once again no.
It's not random but I didn't want to have just dramatic and happy scenes, neutral elements was necessary (in my point of view) to have a complete mix of feelings.SSJVegita0609 wrote: I also liked your use of dramatic scenery, but then again, every time there was a dramatic scene, it was followed by a random scene involving substanceless fluff. I'm very torn about what to think.

Bakadeshi wrote:Awesome editing job.... but I'm not sure I actually like the video or not yet... There doesn't realy seem to be a point to the video besides having a bunch of anime along with the original video, using very creative editing techniques. it seemed more like a show off of your capabilites as an editor I think. Not that its a bad thing, but it makes the video have little replay value to me, since I like moody and or story elements in videos unless its either fun action, or fun upbeat. I guess if I thought the song was as legendary as other people here I might like it more ;p
Basically loved the editing, as I always do with you, but the video didn't seem to do it for me either, at least at the moment. Maybe it will grow on me.

...but i felt some scene were a bit random too. As you explained me, this variety was your way to explain the diversity of life, but........./me watch again "beautiful lie".... Wink
Well I'll quote Atvaark, even if it can seem pretentious by me ^^ He has found and understood exactly what I searched to have, except he had the words to explain ^^ (Thanks to Pia for the translation - I suppose some people noticed I'm very bad in english ^^ / And thanks to Atvaark for his opinion, I love you ^^ :p)burntoast wrote:Seeing this at AWA was really something and I think you did a great job with the video. Like some others said, a couple of scenes seem random when compared to the lyrics and such, but you still manage to keep the overall atmosphere. Good stuff!
Thanks to all for your comments ; that's funny to have all the differents point of view ^_^Atvaark wrote:I shall repeat what people previously told, because I never give too much attention to comments before having watched the video. Well then, I have just discovered Jihaku.
To sum up: I feel like watching the ideal amv, concerning this video. The one we wish we had done once in our life.
In details… first, the finishing is amazing. We can feel the presence of so many effects: rotoscoping, correction of the frames, skilful transitions hidden everywhere, an accurate editing… we can feel it, we can guess it, but never see it. Nothing to do, it disappears in the cohesion of the completed work. We forget technicity, and the work is revealed. Magic. I won’t even talk about the precise and fast, mastery timing.
Let’s come to the witchcraft: Tyler, you succeeded at giving depth and profundity, and an incredible presence to each of this trapped characters. Tell me: how did you give such a humanity to this Guu [NB : It's not Guu but Hare] wich appears just one second in the video? And this for all of them. In their respectives anime, some are dumbs, bitchy or brute…and here, for God’s sake, all this little pieces of drawing, never though like that become sensitive, weak, uncertain. As pawn, lost in the crowd, they don’t have time to shine as anime heroes: they are failing, human-like, in their own way.
That’s why this video is so moving. Congratulations.
(moreover, they are wolfs… I what should we ask more? After the Tyler concept : crying children, here is the Tyler concept+, including wolfs ! Great!)
Well, as in litterary commentaries, maybe I gave you more intentions than you really had, but this is the way I felt it. And, as I know you, I shouldn’t be so far from the truth.

Yeah, people, that's how it is: great amv makers have a private translator and a public relations manager.Tyler_yj wrote:Well I'll quote Atvaark, even if it can seem pretentious by me ^^ He has found and understood exactly what I searched to have, except he had the words to explain ^^ (Thanks to Pia for the translation - I suppose some people noticed I'm very bad in english ^^ / And thanks to Atvaark for his opinion, I love you ^^ :p)

Well, you're very welcome, since that's the least I could write about such an amazing vid... and I love you too... :p

Sorry for the bump, but something I need to say...
Encoding to 256 kbps has not had these effects on the other cds I've imported, so what is the big deal, anyway?
I think it may be the copy protection feature on the disc. I recently tried ripping the cd into my itunes and got a very poor quality rip even though I was importing the tracks into 256 kbps encodes. The quality sounded great on a cd player, however, when I listened to it.Tyler_yj wrote:About the music quality, it's ripped from the original CD, I don"t think I failed, it seems me goodBut Foo Fighters' band have a special sound. However I know the sound is low in my coding
