- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.

Since you were so kind and left a comment for my video I guess I should return the favor. I liked the video though I disliked the music, it's like Tono Fyr said it a bit simple somehow the feeling was missing. The editing was great as usual but I think the noise was of no use and just distracted. But hey ... it's Wolf's Rain and it's about my 2nd ego Kiba (
) that makes the video awesome all by itself. And like most already mentioned the capturing was not bad as well.

i started listening to this band a little while ago and realy like them , and i like wolf's rain so thats good . and ways the editing was solid through the whole video . it took a little bit for the video to sink into me , but i think the second half of it has much more emotion then the first , witch is cool how it slowly gained to a climax . overal verry nice video

Lovely work, as usual. You know, I don't think I've been disappointed with one of your works in a long time. This was no exception.
Anyway, I haven't seen Wolf's Rain, so I can't really comment on how well your story interpretation was done, but it's pretty enthralling, so I figure you did well. I have to say, I believe that your video went from very down to earth to very mysterious as it progressed. Enter the woman (from who your avatar was inspired, right?) and you had a new level of depth.
My only real complaint is that the first half of the video seems composed of far too many face shots. Maybe not having seen the anime makes a difference here storywise, but the visuals just weren't very exciting. The song is a mellow enough rock piece, but that was, to be honest, boring. Once you really got going in the second half, I loved it, but the first half was just lacking, I think.
Overall, another solid video from you. The motion lacked at times, but the story, from what I could get, was very well constructed. Awesome job again, Sierra!

Yeah, the song isn't really too complicated, but I think in this case, I found this video easier to plan because of that--I kind of wanted to do simpler editing for this one. I tend to go kind of effects-crazy with more complex songs (although I'm beginning to wonder if I will ever not have effects in my videos... in case you couldn't tell, I like effects too much for my own good.Tono_Fyr wrote:Good Wolf's Rain video. I enjoyed it, though the music was a bit... simple. Yeah, that's a nice way to put it.

Lol, I knew we'd confuse people with that.Bakadeshi wrote:I liked this on the pro DVDs, I actually ended up voting it for drama. Originally I thought this was Silvermoon's video, until she told me she didn;t do drama. You sisters realy pulled the wool over our eyes switching genres like that ;p

I'm glad that the building up of the video came across. I tried to do that because when I listen to this song that's how it sounds to me, and I tried to follow the song as closely as I could.dbzrkyyh wrote:it took a little bit for the video to sink into me , but i think the second half of it has much more emotion then the first , witch is cool how it slowly gained to a climax .
I think I have a tendency to that in a lot of my videos, especially with character profiles like this one. I always try to find the "best scene" of the character when I'm looking through my footage, and that usually ends up being a face shot. I need to break that habit sometime.dj_ultima_the_great wrote:My only real complaint is that the first half of the video seems composed of far too many face shots.

BTW, I just noticed that I forgot to even write what song it was in my first post. Day of Fire is the artist, and the song is called "Jacob's Dream".

hmmm, granted I haven't seen Wolf's Rain, but as a drama video...ehhh
I think my main issue with this, is that although it looks aethestically pleasing, and although it works...it's just very repetitive.
Yes, the first 1:44 or so works well with the lyrics...but it's all the same thing, but a different scene. [Running, sunsets etc]
I didn't feel any twinge of drama until I saw the flower wilt around 2:02 ...but otherwise whatever dramatic feeling there was just dropped off again.
Not something that I can watch often, still looks cool though

Ok, after watching this several times I begann to like the music and thus the video growed alot and I guess I also have to say that the sceneselection is pretty good, cause after reading the lyrics I think I understood it alot better. Seems like the video needs some time do suck people like me in.Warheart wrote:I liked the video though I disliked the music, it's like Tono Fyr said it a bit simple somehow the feeling was missing.

I actually feel the exact same way about this video. I mean, I've always loved this song, but right after I made this video I was pretty disappointed with it. I began to watch it a couple times over after I finished it, though, and I think it grew on me a lot more. That's why I decided to fix up some of the editing in it after a while. I hope other people who didn't like the song or the video at first will watch it again at least once more, in case this is the case for them as well.Warheart wrote:Ok, after watching this several times I begann to like the music and thus the video growed alot and I guess I also have to say that the sceneselection is pretty good, cause after reading the lyrics I think I understood it alot better.
