Who downloaded?
It's been a couple of days that I was thinking about this suggestion. In my opinion, I would find useful an implementation of the site that would be able to show to you the site members usernames (maybe with hypertests) that have downloaded your video. As you can see the number of downloads in "Edit my Videos", I think that be able to see who done it would be useful. Since people extremely rarely submit opinions, I think it would be a good implementation, since you could go contacting some of these member to ask for comments (not on the site, in private for example) and maybe even have a word. In my opinion this would even improve the mean of "community" that this site have.
I'm not sure this is even possible to create, but I anyway wanted to propose it.

I'm against the suggestion for this very reason.Michele wrote:Since people extremely rarely submit opinions, I think it would be a good implementation, since you could go contacting some of these member to ask for comments (not on the site, in private for example) and maybe even have a word.

If they didn't leave an opinion, it's because they didn't WANT to. Suppose it's someone like me with a cable connection, I download ALOT of videos on whims, and I may not even remember some of them. I don't want to wake up with a PM box full of messages of, "leave op please!" And I definitely wouldn't even answer them. If they want opinions, we have the opinion exchange forum for a reason.

This is a sure way to get a 500 word essay on exactly how and why Europeans suck filled with every single negative stereotype and curseword I can think of. Feel free to PM me if you want...Michele wrote:I think it would be a good implementation, since you could go contacting some of these member to ask for comments

Indeed I was not talking about opinions. And I tried to make it clear. :O I already myself get a lot of "leave op please!" Pms, but my idea was COMPLETELY different.
But btw you all have right. But I don't feel like to quote the Godix's comment. :\ An entire continent do not suck.
Maybe the problem is mine, here in italy it's impossible to find out someone that even have a minimal idea of what an amv is. :º

Re: Who downloaded?
Moi aussi. I'd prefer not to be contacted by people looking for comments on a video I may not have even watched yet (or worse, saw and didn't remember).Janzki wrote:I'm against the suggestion for this very reason.Michele wrote:Since people extremely rarely submit opinions, I think it would be a good implementation, since you could go contacting some of these member to ask for comments (not on the site, in private for example) and maybe even have a word.

I'd like to bring up something from the original post.
Maybe I'm off track, but that's how I'm interpreting this idea.

One word: Euphoria. If you were to open that page, with ALL of those names, your browser wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of surviving it. This is true for many, many other popular videos, but that's the most extreme example. I mean, I remember one AMV creator (dokidoki, maybe? Not sure) saying that his browser crashed just from looking at the opinions page.Michele wrote:I would find useful an implementation of the site that would be able to show to you the site members usernames (maybe with hypertests) that have downloaded your video.
