Oh, btw, I'm not sure if you missed my last post... The one that dated 06-Sep-2005 02:43 GMT.
Make sure the USER line in your FTP client log matches _EXACTLY_ the username displayed on your upload status page.

Is this resolved, or do you still need to give it a try?

Ack! Sorry. Classes must have made me forget about this for a few days. Negating excuses...
Again, though, it's my bedtime, but not to worry. I have a free day tomorrow, so I can continue with this.
Offhand, CuteFTP said it was the correct username - according to what it had in Properties. I can't see how the IE method would mess up a username, especially if you just click right on the FTP address it gives you. You're automatically working with the right username and password in that case, right?
Still figuring out FileZilla...I finally broke down and started looking for a tutorial a few minutes ago...
See you ('you' in the general sense) in the morning. I'm an early waker, so I'll get started on it right away.

FileZilla, at least from what I can tell, also failed.
I'm beginning to think that the problem isn't on my end, because nothing I've done has rendered any results. I've seen a few other threads now where others have been experiencing the same problems. I should track them down and see if they found any solutions...

Well, ok, let's try this:
(1) Upload something with the information the request upload page gives you. It can be a 30-byte text file if you want to save time. It just has to be an upload. Write down the username from this step.
(2) Examing the FTP logs from your FTP client. Look for all the USER lines, see which username comes after that USER line. Write down this username/these usernames too.
(3) Look at the upload status page. Write down the username here, too
(4) Now, do the usernames from (1) and (3) match? They should, if not, something is very wrong. Stop, and post the usernames from (1), (2), and (3) here as well as the filename you uploaded.
(4) If (1) and (3) match, do (1) and (2) match? If not, then your FTP client --- for reasons I don't know --- logged in with the wrong username. We'll at least know what the problem is then, and we can work on troublehooting it, or working around it. Stop, and post here.
(5) If the usernames all matched, see if Confirm Upload lists the file you uploaded. If it does, then it worked. If it doesn't, stop, and post the username from (1), (2), and (3) here, as well as the file name you uploaded.
Edit: Oh, and if I've managed to be too confusing here, try and catch me on IRC [in #AMV, look for the chat link on the members' page] or AIM (Person6713), and we can try and work through it... I work during the week, so weekend or evening (after 6pm EDT) is best.

Assuming I understood everything you said like I think I did, here's the info:
(1 - upload video page) Uploaded the video itself. My connection's great, so if it works, I may as well work with the real thing, I figure. Username was lejusteuam.
(2 - FTP log) I. dachosedru, II. tubebechoc, III. lejusteuam (this one made the connection correctly.) Those other two were previous usernames I had been given on previous upload attempts.
(3 - upload status page) Username was lejusteuam
(4 - matching usernames) All three were the same, because I and II of 2 didn't make a connection. Login error due to the lack of a password.
(5 - Confirm Page) No link. Username was lejusteuam, and file name was Gravitation - DDRzukamori - Portishead - Roads.wmv
I think that's all. No, wait. I do have one more thing to bring up. In CuteFTP has a Site Manager Tab, where a folder called General FTP Sites is located. Within that folder, there are three locations. GlobalSCAPE Texas, LP. - which I've never tried to upload to, because I know it's not right. Then, there's My FTP Site - which mysteriously appeared there one day... Finally, there is My Music Videos, which is self-explanatory. This is the folder I did my last successful upload with. However, it says on the FTP page here on a-m-v.org to NOT create any subdirectories. Isn't that exactly what those first two locations are? I'm only asking because I don't understand, and I want to be thorough. I certainly didn't make them, so they shouldn't be there, right?
I hope this helps with the details.

OK, now to figure out what is going on. First off, I've checked in kero, and I see that you did indeed upload:
OK, after looking for a while, the record in the DB shows

I have checked, and the file does exist, and it is in the right place.teh log wrote: Sun Sep 11 20:02:39 2005 117 137.104.71.211 30508914 /srv/ftp/9/lejusteuam/Gravitation_-_DDRzukamori_-_Portishead_-_Roads.wmv b _ i r lejusteuam ftp 1 * c

. That would seem to imply that the person you're uploading for clicked cancel upload.the DB wrote:date_done: 2005-09-11 20:26:56

Thanks for the link.
Also, about the canceling thing, did you not want me to do that? I'm sorry. I automatically cancel the video once I don't see it available on the info page. If you like, I can do another upload tomorrow (same thing) and not cancel it if and when it messes up. If so, would you like me to jot down the info again?
