NOOO! DON'T RUIN GUNGRAVE!megaman917 wrote:I also vote for Samurai Champloo. Next I vote for Gungrave. I wonder how that would turn out. I know if done correctly, Gungrave would turn out to a great live action movie. Not exactly sure as to who would direct, who would play who. I could almost see Samuel L. Jackson as Bear Walken, maybe Ashanti, Ciara, or Olivia as Sherri Walken, and maybe Jet Li could play Balladbird Lee. Then we could some NBA stars, and a few pro-wrestlers like The Big Show, Kane, The Undertaker, Gene Snitsky, Chris Masters, and few others to play the Orc-men.
My next vote is for Vandread. I wonder what a live action version would be like.
What anime would you want to turn into a hollywood movie?

I'm with you on that onemegaman917 wrote:My next vote is for Vandread. I wonder what a live action version would be like.
My own choices would be Noir or maybe Kiddy Grade. No idea on stars, I don't realy keep up with who plays what roles. As long as the movie is done well it doesn't matter to me who plays the characters.

Actors-Bob-Mhkai Phifer, Shichro-Jin(rapper, in 2 fast 2 furious), Mitsumi-The Rock, Shin-Jet Lee Maya-Carmen Electra Aya-Jennifer Garner, Takayanagi-Stephen Chow
why, why not? Great action anime, that couldnt be finshed for some reason or another, and the books are still going. It would be interesting to see them all in the ring and how they would play the history of Nasume clan back.

and like i said i thought it sucked!

Sorry for my reaction, it's just that I really hated that movie for some reason. Anyways, I don't know when they made it but I think that it's really old cause when I saw it
it had a boring story and really bad special effects
I saw it probably in 2000 or 2001(don't remember)

Based in part on an idea that got cooked up in the chat a while back.
Anime - The Big O (...provided they can do this WITHOUT the Megadeuses looking like awful CGI)
Director - Terry Gilliam (Tim Burton's good for the style points, but given the story in question, and after finally watching 'Brazil' I'm gonna have to give Terry the game point.)
Cast -
Roger Smith - Christian Bale (...yeah, not the most original answer here, but hey)
Alex Rosewater - Christopher Walken
Angel - Charlize Theron
Beck Gold - Jim Carrey
Schwarzwald - Brad Dourif
Dan Dastun - Tommy Lee Jones
Alan Gabriel - Cillian Murphy (?)
Norman Berg - Still not sure on this one...the two best candidates seemed to be either Bill Nighy w/some makeup or Max von Sydow
R. Dorothy Wainwright - ...honestly, still not sure on this one.
Reasons: Well, for one, the fact the story is already based in NA (New York, to be more specific (...no, I'm not bullshitting, the show drops several clear signs that Paradigm City is New York)) would make the casting more merciful, since this means people can't rightly complain about caucasians playing the roles.
Besides that, it's a pretty intriguing storyline, and if the success of the Matrix (...to varied degrees) is any indication, it could still find a niche here. Plus, with a director like Gilliam, they could really make some of the show's more interesting surreal points work.

an anime to real life movie.
I know they made a movie off of Dragon ball, not Dragon ball z, they are still out to lunch on that one.
The movie was called Dragon ball: The magic begins.
It was done like 10-15 years ago or something and is hilarious if you can look at it with the right mindset and perspective.
if a DBZ movie has come out someone come back with some more proof then saying that they saw it.

My vote would go to either Ghost in the Shell or Samurai Champloo, although I'm looking forward to the live action Eva movie Peter Jackson is making...
