AMV Or not AMV ?

Hello everybody ! I'm new in this forum ! And I would like to ask you few questions :

I've made a sort of mini series about Heero & Relena, with all their scenes together. There is no music, except for the opening and the ending. Can we call this an AMV ?

My second question is this one : my sister has made a super AMV of Gundam Wing with the song "Justify my love" from Madonna... The lyrics are quite... hot, so am I allowed to upload it on this website or no ? Of course, the pictures from the video are extracts from GW, so there is no pornography ^^ but it's all about the lyrics ! ^^°

Hmm...I don't think that the first is considered an AMV, because all it is is a rehash of the couple's story. I would equate that to a recap episode in an anime. I don't think you could upload that, but wait for more people to respond, as there are plenty of people who would know better than me.

As for the song "Justify My Love," I am familiar with that piece. I rather like it, actually. So, let me put it this way. If this site can host a video to a song called "Fuck a Dog," then I think that your sister's AMV is perfectly fine.

Music choice doesn't really matter on this site, or so I've seen. The song could swear every other word and you could still upload it. I mean, the video isn't smut, or anything inappropriate for that matter, so it should be okay.

About my mini series, I thought everybody will respond that but I'm still hoping another anwser ! ... Hm, but, that's not really important because, as I am french, the dialogues and summary of the previous episode are in french ! ^^° So I guess there won't be many people there to understand... TT__TT

Yeah, but that's different. That audio isn't from the clips of Yami no Matsuei. It is no different than a trailer, or that "Little Tortilla Boy" video.

To my understanding, Sora is talking about uploading a video of clips from the series that are not put to any kind of audio. Generally speaking, isn't that kind of like uploading an episode? That's not allowed, so I'm thinking that this wouldn't be either.

Ah, if that's the case, then yup, I doubt that's allowed... but one tends to question, why would you anyone want to upload something like this and call it their own? Because that's what it would look like if it's uploaded to their org account.

For the first one it'd probably matter where the audio came from. If the audio is taken directly from the anime there might be issues. If the audio is original or a different source than the anime then it'd probably be ok. Of course, the admins would have to make the final call on something like that.

If you really want to know then upload your video to yousendit.com and send the link to the admins email asking if they can look at your video ahead of time to judge if it's ok or not.

Hm... That's not a simply addition of scenes from Gundam Wing, nor a summary. In fact, at the beginning of each episode, I make a summary that deforme the reality. I also put the scenes in another chronology and I don't put the full dialogues.

For exemple, into the third episode, when Heero go out of the school after having told Relena they were going to be attacked, I've put a black screen with few sentences explaining Heero was lying and went out to take his gundam and kill Relena. Then, I don't put the battle scenes but we see Heero in his gundam walking to Relena, he's about to kill her, then we see the tower falling on her (we're supposed to think Heero has hit the tower for it to fall on Relena) and then, finally, Heero dive to protect Relena.

During the whole scene, there is only a sub-title dialogue (the same as the episode one) and a over-dramatical background music. (taken from the Card Captor Sakura OST... the episode with the card of the Dream, when Shaolan is watching his secret dream on the movies screen)

The fourth episode will be more deformed and, as Relena & Heero meet together rather less than in the first episodes, I guess I will have to deform that more and more...
