Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

More Then Anime Can Offer (Live Action)

Post by OtakuForLife » Wed Jul 20, 2005 12:42 am

Title: More Then Anime Can Offer
Source:Densha Otoko (Live Action)
Audio: SwitchFoot - Meant To Live
Format: Xvid - Lame Compressed Audio
Size: 56 Meg-ish
________________________________________
This videos creation came to me suddenly
somewhere in the middle of the second
episode of the series. This switchfoot
song just keept filtering though my brain
over and over again. So, I said "I must be
on to something here". Then I figured
if I'm ever going to be a real editor
when I exit college. I need to work with
living footage. Now this is my first real
attempt to make a live-action music video.
This video will probally have more meaning
if you actually watch the show first. For some
reason I really felt like doing this..Still
don't know why... I get like that alot..
But, I believe.. I presented the visual
clues obviously enough. Anyway, I hope
you enjoy it.. Sorry about the huge file size
and yes I'm not putting this on local but
instead will list a direct connection link
below.

Side-notes:
1)All the footage for this video is from just
episode one.

2)Also, There is a minor video giltch where
she hands him the cleanix, thats intentional.
Wanted to give the scene a sense of suddeness.

I kind of liked it. Seeing a music video like that was lilely odd, but it was interesting. Good job on editing, I thought the theme fitted correctly with the character. Poor guy of him. The end however felt out of purpose, with the rock band and the guy in the middle of the crowd, but i think you had a reason for this.
And btw, that show seemed like a parody, but eeeeh everyone's taste is different :)

Yeah the show is a parody and the video is sorta a parody of
a parody. The idea was to highlight some of the problems with otaku
that some are lost too far into there obession and need people to
drag them back out. Also, to show that good ideals dosn't always
equal good results. Then I said "I can also make this a romance video"..
Basically alot going on their :D . Yeah the rock ending was to parody
the orignal video and to show that everyone was behide him.
