Windows media player makes it very difficult to edit properly because of it's linear nature. that and nbo matter how good your source, it will always come out poor quality compressed. Adobe premeire is the way to go if your rich, but Pinnacle Studios is a cheap (at least last time I checked) software suite at only $100.
Sorry to have to say this but you're full of it, WMM2 is the perfect place to start editing AMVs if you can't do any better, most beginners find multi-track editors too complex, and get bogged down in having so many features they don't know what to do with themselves, it is a well known fact that some of the best vids on the site have been made with WMM and if Arigatoumina or Michele catch you saying it's no good they'll have you for breakfast, furthermore: it is perfectly possible to get DVD quality out of WMM/2, you just have to know what you're doing, to this end there have been at least two guides written on the subject: part of EADFAG, and Scintilla's Scintilla's Guide to Preparing DVD Footage for Windows Movie Maker 2. Now, don't ever let me see you making such an uninformed, arrogant statement again.
I started just editing with Virtual Dub and a stopwatch ;p back in 2001... yeah I was dumb ;p but my sweat and tears (once I found timeline editing, it's funny how work only adds to the joy... than it turns into tears when you find an easier way that was always available...) lead to many great things once I tried premeire. Funnier is when I find WORSE videos on the org!! Of coarse, I was 20 and therefor a ton more patient than your typical teen (along with other things...).

I actually found Premeire Pro ALOT easier to use even for simple cut and fade editing than WMM2. WMM2 felt way too limiting for me that I got frustrated using it. But to each his own in that respect. Almost Anything's possible with any setup as long as you put your heart into it.

As for the video:

Its a pretty good attempt, but I thought you couldve done more with the song. Such as instead of using just the final episode, Maybe flashing back to some of the earlier episodes in flashback scenes during the corus of the song. I liked the begining, but The overly linear nature of just using the final episodes got old quick and started to feel like it was just the last episode pasted over music ;p Timming could be tighter, but for your first it was pretty good.

I like the fact you use a Spanish song + western theme. I've seen anything like it before, but like Bakadeshi said you could have use more than just the final episode. Also, I think it would have been better not to put that little "thank you for watching" message during your credits. Overall, nice work. 8-)

I, myself, use WMM2 and have never had a problem with it (except for constant crashing, but that's not something I would go insane over).

Ok well thanks for everything guys i just do have one question..... Do u have any new recommendations for new editing software. I like wmm2 but as sumone posted it is to limited, unless sumone knows how to put music and sound effects in a vid using WMM2. And the deal with using flashbacks is a great idea. I did think of it but it was my first vid and i really didnt know what to do. Ive got more ideas and thx to u guys they r only gettin better, but i really need either new editing software that is easy to use or tips on using WMM2. Any one will suffice.

I used to use WMM when i started out. Then i upgraded to WMM2, which kept crashing. So i decided to step it up. When you know what you are doing with multi-track editors, you will think WMM is a joke. That's not to say it's not the perfect begginers Program. Because when you get a firm grasp on the basics, its likely to show in your first multi-track done video.

There's some screen transitions and screen transition makers available at www.windowsmoviemakers.net Some are free and others you have to pay for. Try and see if anything there works for you.
