Sorry. I'm not sure if you directed this towards me. I was actually asking to see some of your non-A MVs.Otohiko wrote:Well, there's two ways of hosting a non-AMV.
1) Use a free hosting service. The best one I know of right now is Rapidshare.de - which allows up to 50mb, without any registration. The only issue with it is that some people can't always use it properly due to tricky proxy setups their ISP's use. (...and some people can't find the "Free" button on it, too...)
2) The better but trickier way: find a dedicated community server for whatever it is that you used for your source. For instance, if it's a video game, find a community centred on that game; same if it's a movie or something like that. There usually are people on there who would be more than willing to host it for you. If they like it, they will even promote it! (...which they've certainly done in my case...)

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I just finished a non-amv that I like to call Hells Smiths.
If your lucky, you might catch a non-amv in the amv announcments from time to time (Linked offsite) but you would need to search for em. found a LOTR vid (Xnod's)and a vid made from The Passion of Christ (Beowulf's) there. You can also find some game MV's there like Resident Evil 4 (Castor Troy's) vid.
I would get some links but I have no more time =P hope this helps.

I find this to be an interesting direction as well, of course it also adds a lot of dificulty in footage preperation.Coffee 54 wrote:What intrigues me the most are possiblities offered by in-game footage. These can give the director scene set up and camera control, both of which I'd love to play with.
Of course game music videos usually use this ability for gag purposes, but some have taken actorless directing to quite a high level (see Red Vs. Blue.)

It doesn't have to be difficulty, but it heavily depends on the game in question. Some games are VERY editing-friendly - in the sense that they offer great scripting, camera, and replay controls. With something like Operation Flashpoint for instance, you can make a music video or even a whole movie without ever leaving the game's (fantastic) mission editor!pen-pen2002 wrote:I find this to be an interesting direction as well, of course it also adds a lot of dificulty in footage preperation.Coffee 54 wrote:What intrigues me the most are possiblities offered by in-game footage. Others, however, are not-so-movie-friendly. In my recent case, it was moderately unfriendly; and I find gameplay footage from most console games even more unfriendly.

And I again absolutely have to pimp my favorite game video which makes awesome use of the game's great graphics and good camera controls - Kedik's Pacific Fighters video "Come With Me". I think it's my favorite action video in general, actually

(Couldn't find a working link for it so I just uploaded it to Rapidshare myself. If you want to download it, just click "Free" at bottom of linked page)
