Requiett is taking requests

Post by requiett » Fri Jun 10, 2005 5:52 pm

I'm not saying I'll do an idea, but I'm interested to see if anyone has any truly awesome ideas they want to see done. Limiting a request to a mere "OMG USE THIS ANIME WITH THIS SONG!" doesn't cut it for me either. You gotta have some kind of bizarro. core concept. Keep in mind I'm prone to using lots of unorthodox FX.

To those of you who want to accuse me of fishing for ideas, because you think I hit the bottom of the barrel, I've got so many ideas, I'm backed up through the wazoo. I doubt I'll even finish them all. So why bother with this? Couldn't tell ya.

Oh, and if I just so happen to actually use your idea, you will receive credit for the concept on the listing and the vid.

Heh, heh, heh. Project Ideas. Project Ideas. I have come up with so many excess project ideas that it would be a sin for me not to get someone as talented as you to at least consider them.

Okay, my absolute favorite music video idea is one that I've tried to pawn off to various people several times now. Unfortunately, I think the reason none of them have taken it is because it is a truly daunting idea. So, this is the original text I put for it the first time I suggested it.

'X – The Matrix Revolutions – “Navras” – Okay, this suggestion is a big one. It is also one of the most difficult ones I have offered yet. This video, minus the middle section, would make an amazing X action video. Heck, even the middle section could be wonderful if it was pulled off right. This song has seven parts to it basically.
- intense orchestral – the parts of X that tell about “The End of the World.”
- techno – battle sequences between various Dragons
- ‘ritual chanting’ techno – each of the characters’ individual life situations/pasts
- mysteriously quiet music – dream sequences (this could be Hinoto’s, Kakyou’s, and Kotori’s, remember)
- more techno – more battle sequences between various Dragons
- more intense orchestral – more parts that tell about “The End of the World,” or further battle sequences
- intense orchestral ending – cliffhanger ending – leave the viewer wondering how it’s all gonna turn out!
Okay, I don’t want to say that people with anything inferior to Premiere shouldn’t try this; I just think that this video would work out so much better with the range of effects and capabilities that that program has to offer. Of course, there is a lot to be said for just clean, well-timed cuts, too. Regardless, I still believe that some effects would very much enhance this video. One more thing I want to mention is that this song is VERY long; it tops out at 9:08. Oh, and this is another song that I would consider to be one of my top ten favorite songs of all time. I seriously consider this to be one of the most challenging of my suggestions, so I would love if someone took it up. I absolutely promise a long, in-depth review to anyone who tries this idea and shows me the results!'

That is how I first introduced the idea and I think it explains my idea fairly well. I would love to do it myself, but Windows Movie Maker II is just SO not conductive to that. Besides, this is my baby idea and I want it to be good. So, I would love to leave it in the hands of a master - you.

As always, Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing!

PS: completely unrelated, but I love your "More Spirit Than Human" video.
PSS: no, I'm not sucking up. :P :D

Did you say Bizarro core concept?

You know Full Metal Alchemist?

I'm a big fan of the Beatles, and with the imagery of songs like Penny Lane, I've been searching for anime matches. Well I think mebbe I found one. FMA and Penny Lane.

Hear me out - Penny Lane is about walking around in a place and describing the people you see. Now go get out your lyrics and follow along - The "barber" should be Hughes - just look at the opening line. The "Fireman" should be Mustang, for obvious reasons. Lastly, the "banker" should be Armstrong - there's a line that goes "and he never wears a mac in the poring rain, very strange" See where I'm going. You could probably fit Ed and Al during the chorus, and numerous other small characters in other roles in the song. "pretty nurse" One part I don't have figured out is the "portrait of the queen," but maybe I need to see more or something. Hope you like this idea. Even if you don't do it, I just hope you like it.

Another fun idea I've been trying to get done, also, actually a Beatles song -

Cowboy Bebop - "Hey Bulldog!" - It's a little known and underappreciated upbeat little ditty with a strong beat from the "Yellow Submarine" soundtrack. How to describe it... Maybe a jazzy feel that I think Spike and everyone else would enjoy. Can send mp3 if interested.

Fruits Basket - "Paperback Writer" - A Tribute to Shigure. I attempted this awhile back but I didn't have enough Shigure book scenes.

Slayers "Help"

Sorry, Guess all my old - "Good ideas, but I'm not worthy of doing this" ideas happen to be Beatles. These are just the ones off the top of my head. I'll come back later if I come up with any more.
Making an amv, is rather like being the director of a Broadway show, where you have a million dancers and each of them only knows one step.

DJ Ultima... that doesn't sound difficult. At all. I synched Poltergeist Report to Aphex Twin - Come to Daddy in 2 days. Same thing with the FF video. But I really don't ever want to use X to edit with again. The mastering of that DVD is just awful. It may as well be VHS, and I already suck at compression as it is.

I'll think about the X video. If I get ahold of the DVD again, I'll give it a crack. I'm not doing any FMA vids, though.

1. I've only seen one good FMA vid, and even then, it was pointless.
2. I haven't seen but a few eps, and I don't like it.

Actually, I wasn't talking about the movie. The movie sucked. I'm talking about the much better, much more beautiful X series.

I had an idea I wanted to add to this thread because it's really funky..to me anyways.

Faith No More - Be Aggressive

Naruto and Sasuke looking and acting all touch, until the chorus..

you need to hear the song to understand, but if you listen to it, you might get the idea ;)
I fear the little people.

X wasn't good to begin with. I don't want to have to see 26 episodes of "nothing good."

I knew this thread would make me sick later. It's not like we don't have enough Naruto vids as it is, but people want to go and SUGGEST MORE. Yeah, I'll probably eventually make one myself, Metal Gear Solid style.

If you're not opposed to Evangelion, I've got a good idea for that. I won't do it myself, because I've already made two Eva videos and I've even got another lined up. :? I can't get away from it. Regardless, do you know Ayreon? On their newest album they've got this cool folk metal-like song, featuring Devin Townsend, called "Loser."

The way I pictured it was a Shinji-Gendo video, coming from Gendo's point of view until the end. Here are the lyrics but, obviously, it helps to hear it.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.
