When do you stop editing?

I just have to force myself to quit and call it finished at some point.. If I don't do that the AMV will never be done :\ No matter what I do I'll always end up noticing stuff I'd want to do differently and after certain point this starts to eat the enjoyment-factor of my AMV creation process. This means my AMVs are full of little details (that no-one else most likely won't notice) that bug me, but I need to let it go before I burn out.

When I made the umpteenth rendering of the video and finally delete the project file... that's when I scream "NOOOO!" and realise I forgot to hide the subtitles of the fansub I used for footage[/sarcasm]

I don't know, me personally I'm not one to tinker over my vid over and over again... once I'm done with a particular project that's it, no remastering, no going back later and there's no compunction for me to do it either... I ain't no George Lucas

When you are satisfied with the final product.
When all the things in the video link together in harmony and when you think the sync is good or as good as you can think of.

When I feel that things look the right way and I can't add anything more without starting to ruin it...

...Of course, three or four months later, I start to think that I shouldn't have stopped at this moment, but gone on with it for a little longer...

i stop when the computer crashed while screaming "RAM!!!!!" even tho that doesnt happen very often...

I do agree. I usually finish when I think everything is in place and the whole finished product makes a nice audiovisual story.

But for a favorite, I have remade after listening to feedback and improving my own level. I may remake more videos in the future.
