that video actually got me interested in Bleach in the first place, so Roz should be thanked for increasing the fan-base :P

I couldn't do that because I never make AMVs to a series I haven't seen all of yet. To me it kinda makes it lack meaning if you don't even know what it is you're actually working from...unless it's like a fun/dance/eye candy video.

But then, that's just me.

Mathematically it's true, but I never did all that well in maths.

Of course we mustn't overlook music. Hmm, I wonder if newer muic is picked up faster than the newer anime. I'll ponder that for a while.

I think music doesn't tend to follow that same pattern; AMV's are really more associated with the up-and-active anime fans as opposed to 'hardcore' music fans (if there is such a thing as a 'music fan', we tend to get a bit more specialized).

That's to say that, well, if you make AMV's, you'd usually be a connoisseur of anime, but not neccesarily a connoisseur of music.

Anyway, as for me, my selection of anime is generally what I actually have, and my selection of music is what I generally like, irrespective of the time frame.

x2

But then I really appreciate AMVs to series I'm watching myself at the moment or just finished watching :)

I really hope you're not talking about this, which was put together at the point where only two episodes were out.

And let's not forget who catalogued the first Bleach video.

Anyways, being guilty of this sort of thing, I guess I have to shed my views on it. While I do sometimes brag about cataloguing the first video for a new series (like I just did), I never mean it seriously. I really think of it more as a challenge, sort of like "Okay, I have twenty minutes of footage to work with. How can I edit something that's enjoyable to watch?" On top of that, I have a fairly short attention span, so short AMVs with limited source are right up my alley.

But seriously, do you actually think people try to do this for attention? That's just silly. Nobody actually cares about what the first Bleach video was; they just care about which one kicked ass first.

Since when does anyone need to have the character "figured out" to make an AMV to them? I can make Kenshin look gay when we all know he isn't because he banged that whore Tomoe AND Kaoru.
