Romantic Anime

Post by Gallup » Mon Apr 25, 2005 11:23 pm

Anyone know of a anime that is fairly romantic. I was thinking about Love Hina but I have never seen the series and do not know much about it. Any ideas?

There are hundreds of romantic anime series. You're going to have to be more specific.

Being REALLY specific is somewhat hard for this because I am gong to be using a Japanese song and do not know what the lyrics translate to. Theirefore I am open to pretty much ANY suggestions.

Ok, I just thought of something to help people out. How about a anime that shows two characters who really like each other but are to afraid to tell each other how they feel but eventually let the other one know their feelings. Does this help?

Hmm... does Shoujo-ai count?

I guess Max Payne isn't much of a yaoi fan...

It's a genre XD. Even the most basic otaku should know what it means.
Here's a free lesson to help you out in the future:
Shoujo-ai: girl/girl romance
Yuri: somewhat more explicit girl/girl romance
Shounen-ai: dude/dude romance
Yaoi: somewhat more explicit dude/dude romance

Got it? ok! ^_^

Got it. And I guess that it could be this type of vid. Like I said the lyrics are in Japanese so I can make the video mean pretty much whatever I want.

I wouldn't recommend doing that. It can come out just as deficient as completely throwing off say, English song lyrics.

Anyways, I would recommend you check out
彼氏彼女の事情 (Kare Kano)
for a good romance anime series.
Lurid Enchantment - ICYCLOUD
urban suite - TRYTHIL
大切な思い - BAKADESHI
Expansion - RESK

Hmm.. Okay, that narrows it down a bit.

Evangelion is one of my favorite romances - a triangle between the *dangerous* young rogue and the perfect clean gentleman and a confused girl caught in the middle trying to figure out which way to go.

CardCaptor Sakura - Gets more romantic towards the second season, or if you want to narrow it down, check out the 2nd movie "The Sealed Card." It's all about two young people in love, and trying to come out with telling their feelings.

Love Hina - this is a comedy - I've often thought of it as Tenchi Muyo without the sci fi. A young man remembers making a promise to a little girl to meet again at Tokyo University. Trouble is, it's been so long, he cannot remember the girl's name. After repeated failed attempts at enrolling in the elite school, he meets Naru, a nerdy girl also trying to pass the entrance exam, and through an unlikely series of events, becomes the manager of an all-female apartment building, the Hinato hot springs! Very funny show with many humourus adventures with all the colorful characters.

I think Kare Kano might also fall into your category. Fushigi Yuugi, Fruits Basket,

For specifics, are you looking for a serious series or a comedy? Sci-Fi? Fantasy? Other? Young people? Old? Any other topic of show?
Making an amv, is rather like being the director of a Broadway show, where you have a million dancers and each of them only knows one step.
